I think after Captain Marvel and a few other movies recently (Mr. Robot and the film mid90's included), there's a gradual push to 90's. Especially in 2020 and beyond.
WW 84 was greenlit at the apex of the craze, but took too long to develop. It should've came out this past summer. |

What in the hell is going on with Wiigs character?? She transforms from 80s woman , to Sally from American Horror Story, to a Cats cast off.

Ooof, Wonderwoman vs Catwoman? That's a really odd pairing.

Watched this afternoon.
Good: Pine in the 80s schtick Decent: The character Lord Not so great: It's too long. the first two main scenes (flashback and mall scene) and could have been cut and nothing would be missed. They also could have removed Cheetah entirely and left Lord as the main villain. Without giving away too much they could have just greatly enhanced the side effect to the wish and left it at that. The Disney esque ending was disappointing. I thought DC was supposed to be more intense??? The Egypt stuff was also extra and they could have relocated it somewhere else where the flying stuff actually plausible. This felt like it was specifically made to cater to young girls and not really anyone else. Kind of a step back from the direction DC was heading, I really enjoyed Shazam. |

The first thing I said after it ended was it was about 20-30 minutes too long and there was plenty they could have just done without. I didn't mind the beginning part, but I think you could cut every scene with Kristin Wiig except one and I wouldn't have even noticed and it wouldn't have affected the story. How about some interesting backstory about the origins of the thing? It got like 10 seconds of explanation. The very melodramatic ending was a bit much. Last edited by dwx; 12-25-2020 at 05:53 PM. |

Wasn't feeling it at all. Too long and I didn't understand Mando's motivation for trying to destroy the world
