I am glad that they don't remove descents from the tour, it's part of racing, but they should put up signs where there are blind corners letting riders (and drivers) know how tight the corner is.

I heard someone say he followed a press moto taking a bad line, makes sense because it looked like he apexed that corner WAY early and a motorcycle would be able and willing to just lean more to make it. I'm thankful for my early sportbike days which definitely helps cornering on a road bike. Hopefully Sagan got away with just the scrapes we could see. |

How do we know the corners are not already marked as most roads are? Moto riding def helps. I'd love to just do the downhills.
Sagan looked pretty friken tore up. Word is he'll start tomorrow. I'm glad Quintana got the win today. He needed some TdF love. There's still several GC spots still undecided. Friday and Saturday is gun be good. It's almost over. |

I'd enjoy seeing Dumoulin challenge Thomas for the Yellow.
Surprised to see Froome give it up. |

Thomas is no slouch in the TT either.
GT will wear the Yellow into Paris. |

No change to the lead, and no sprint from Sagan.
Still a little sore after his tumble? |

I was surprised to see Froome sticking out his toungue on those climbs as I've never seen him show that much emotion before. I still think he's sand bagging a bit to make nice with the fans in support of GT.
A slight change in GC (3rd) on stage over the Tourmelet. Lotsa stage miles to go so we'll see if Sky does the usual closing of the gap... edit: Things are getting a bit more interesting on the descent!!!! Last edited by Bonzo; 07-27-2018 at 09:59 AM. |

I think was giving it everything he had. He had that same face going two days ago when he cracked like Marion Barry.
He probably ducked into the role of "good teammate" to protect GT after Wednesday but there's no way in hell he was sandbagging off the podium, which he fell off of today. |

Maybe he forgot to pack his inhaler.

At the least, his skin is on fire, and if you fall just wrong, that **** can hurt for days. It's all risk and reward, he got what he came for and nobody is going to take it away as long as he finishes...even if it's in 8th place. |

I still have road rash healing up from 50 days ago (and I only went down at 25 mph). It stopped hurting like 30 days ago, but my skin still hasn't healed in some places.
Probably the worst part for Sagan is going to be that road rash on his upper back and on the back of his thigh. Hurts like hell to lie down and would affect his recovery sleep. |

Gilbert rode 60km with a broken knee cap, these guy's have to cross a pain threshold that us plebs just can't comprehend
If I rode one of these stages at the pace they are moving, I could sleep that night if I was literally on fire! |

Congrats to Thomas.
I'm sure there are plenty of people that are happy to see Froome fail but are equally bummed that it was another Sky rider beating him It may not have been the closest contested tour I've watched but it was definitely one of the most bonkers 21 days I've witnessed Champagne tomorrow and then off to Spain! |

I'm happy for Thomas as well, after years of hard work he deserves his day in the sun.
I was pissed froome had a killer time trial and got back on the podium. |

Sky just has A LOT more money than the rest of the pro tour teams. Doesn't seem to help them in the classics, but who wins a (two week plus) grand tour without big budgets? |

Grats Thomas, nice to see a guy that has been a near heroic domestique for a decade come to Paris in yellow. Loved his victory interview.

How many people posting in this thread really believe none of the past winners since Armstrong has been clean?
I think Thomas is a clean winner. My two cents. |
