I would trust these devs.
CDPR invited me and a handful of other players to their main dev studio in warsaw last year to test another game under NDA and the effort they are putting into CP2077 is monumental. Game devs in the 2077 war room locked the door behind them when they left on breaks. Oh yeah. As far as graphics, CDPR has always pushed the envelope for graphics, as Witcher in 2015 was one of the best looking games anyone had literally ever seen, and even now at 4k/Ultra it still outshines everything else. Anyone who has 100+ hours in Witcher 3 could vouch for the depth, breadth and technical potential of a game like this and I would literally not trust any other dev to do it better. As far as downgrade goes? CDPR is happy to say "get a new graphics card if you want ultra" unlike ubisoft. |

I have no doubt the game will be an excellent example of the genre, and a tech showcase to boot. I trust these developers to make a top notch game.
I also trust fine wine makers to make fine wine. Of course, it all still tastes like vinegar to me because I don't like wine. |

Long video but I decided to listen to it on my commute. Yeah, that guy sounds like a total narcissistic twat.

Burn in prone OLED owners are going to love 100+ hours of static bright red (the worst burn in offender) HUD elements.

We'll see. I'd rather they not exist at all. I'm hoping they find a less in you face and more dynamic way to present that info that doesn't rely on persistent text & data on screen at all times.

It doesn't matter. It can be any contrasting color. The point is there is screen space that is seeing repeated brightness while the other is not. My friend's TV got burn in on the edges because he used to watch a lot of content in an aspect ratio that put black borders on the screen.

More triggered folks on twitter for this game... Over a "meme". Which is really more of a direct quote than a meme. Le sigh.

Well they've already shown that your 3rd person vs FPS complaint was dumb and unwarranted, so I'm sure this will be no different.

First off. :monkey:
Second, even after watching the video, I stand by my opinion that FPS are inferior, so you can take your "dumb and uwarranted" comment and shove it neatly back inside the sphincter from which it was born. Third, I'm not even sure what your snarky-ass comment means? That you'd rather have a bunch of text and **** all over the screen rather than a clear view of what's going on? I mean, more power to you if thats the case, masswinkyface, but I'd rather they find a more immersive and less dated way to convey info. The first person is claustrophobic enough as is, and frankly I could do without the burn in risk. |

Again, I disagree. I'd have preferred third person and believe it to have been thd right way to go. That's a preference and a matter of opinion...and yeah it's a bit of a deal breaker for me as gamer and a consumer. "Clearly."
I do have burn in concerns. I've seen the evidence, and acknowledge that OLED displays are susceptible. Turning the HUD off is not always the best way to go and more often puts the plsyer at a disadvantage. I'd prefer that a game developer of this caliber would be creative enough to find a more organic way to present info rather than health bars and text. Yeah, turning off the HUD is usually an option, but a dynamic display is a better solution for all. "Bitching just to bitch". This isn't the suck CDPR's dick thread. Criticism of the topic at hand is warranted in a discussion thread, no? |

PS: A HUD makes all the sense in the world. Based on your skills you get more or less information. Its like VATS in Fallout 4 but less in your face. I mean you have cybernetics. Of course there's going to be a data overlay. |

And why couldn't that data overlay be shading and color? Something more creative looking and less "now" than basic health bars and text? Why is my desire for dynamic and contextual data display a "bitch"?

Best option. Use OLED for TV and movies, not gaming. There's a reason there is no big rush to release OLED gaming monitors.

You could do like Halo, and include that readout on the weapon itself, if you need to know. My point was a reduction in static text and displays. The suggested tint and shade for health and current buff is not unprecedented in design (in fact, it was already used in The Witcher 3) and has nothing to do with your ammo count. Use your imagination, you argumentative little turd. Ain't nothing wrong with switching things up. The HUD in this unfinished game looks basic, boring, and ordinary. I'm hoping for something a bit more interesting and dynamic upon completion.
