My dog's need to get between me and whatever screen I want to look at is getting frustrating.

The GOP's demonstrated incompetence at legislation means that I may not get a big tax break as hoped for.

Actual gripe, I think the original injury was from dead lifting, or a combination of that and another exercise; but my lower left back now randomly will hurt pretty bad for a few days if I'm doing other activities. It's right at the upper part of my hip, but it feels like a muscle pain. Last Thursday I did some dead lifting and then Friday did mountain biking for the first time in 8 months. Those two seemed to have it really aggravated. I guess the joy is, this is an excuse for a massage..

My back hurts. Let me just do some heavy lifting and biking, maybe it will feel better

My knees are junk. I cant run or do weights that put pressure on the knee joints. Ive written them off. I still do leg day, just very limited types of exercises.
Hiking up a mountain, ok. Coming down, oh god I need someone to carry me.
Got some hiking poles for this year. Should help out.

Moral of the story is, take it slow, and dont feel bad if you cant do some things anymore.
And be sure to get a happy ending. Always helps.

Do you keep your wallet in your left butt pocket?

I had a massage recently, and the masseuse noticed my right hip looked a little higher than the left. I keep my wallet on the right, could be related? I know when I do front squats, my lower right back area, right about at my kidney gets weirdly tight and unhappy.

I could deal with the power and cargo room, but the cargo room is a bit tight. I have four winter tires mounted on rims sitting inside my Crosstrek, that have to be bagged up correctly and stored in the back of my shed.

I had a bunch of groceries, four wheels/tires, two 50 lb sacks of horse feed, 6 gallons of RV antifreeze in the Crosstrek as I came back from town earlier. A truck bed would be a lot easier to work with than putting seats down, and taking out the sub and **** in the hatch every time I have to haul ****, or emptying out the whole shed to get the utility trailer out.

Generally anywhere in public, not just the airport. If it's at some crappy park bench with a few of your peoples? Maybe. Otherwise get some ****ty cans or buds and keep it to yourself.

Dislike: those lame pillbox bluetooth speakers.
Hate: the ghettofabulous phones with "HiFi" built-in speakers.

On your way home? What kind of commute takes you through a store?

I worked very late on Wednesday, and was on the 10:20 bus back home. Some guy was scream talking on face time, with the speaker phone part on max volume. Bus barely made it 5 minutes and we were in the tunnel when everyone got up and started screaming at him. Half a bus of the saltiest men and women cranky as **** from work. The guy even stood up and apologized to the bus, and some old dude barked at him to "Sit down and shut up!!!!!"

That reaffirming feeling when you learn everyone else is as salty and cranky as you are.

I don't understand why Girl Scout Cookies cost so much money. I would buy some, but not so much at $6 a box. Especially when WalMart and other places carry knockoff ones for $2 a box.

Is it a tax deduction? Mark them up because people feel obligated to buy them? Keebler contracts with the same bakery as the Girl Scouts to make the knockoffs for 1/3rd of the price with presumably more overhead.

I guess I don't understand economics.

Florida. It's about the polar opposite of where I'd choose to live. Flat. Humid. Rains like the dickens periodically, like tonight.

The people are foreign to me. I definitely feel an outsider with my non-native Spanish abilities. I also feel an outsider in places where people wear "stylish" clothes (quotes for the flatbrimming idiots, but also some erstwhile models prancing around) instead of those from REI.

The cars reflect this, too. No Subarus. Fewer practical things. More flash, and undoubtedly a ton of leased near-luxury and luxury cars. I saw a BMW i8, for instance, with the dude picking up his presumed girlfriend from the taco place.

(I'm here in Hollywood for the week for a conference.)

Oh, and the people really do seem bad at driving. 35 mph speed differentials in light rain on I-95. Poor awareness of vehicle turning radius in parking lots. Lots of people on phones.

:nononocat.gif:

On the upside I've seen a lot of nice legs so far.

They are bad at driving. You would think living in Florida, where it rains every ****ing day for 9 months of the year, that most drivers would be competent, but they are not. If it's raining and there is a turn ahead expect brake lights no matter the situation. If the driver in one lane slows, the driver in the lane next to them will also slow for no other reason except that they are ****ing stupid.

Most people in Florida should be sterilized. There, I said it.
