gripe
Most artificial xmas trees out there are 7,5 ft tall. My ceiling is 8 ft tall

I might have to shove that star some place it might fit

Less than two weeks into the time change and I am going stir crazy. My neighborhood is not the safest for a woman to walk around in the dark. It's dark when I start work and dark when I finish. I used to go to the gym after work in winter and jogs before work in the summer, now I just feel stuck at home. This is going to be a looooong winter.

If you're not safe in your own neighborhood perhaps you should seek a change.

Nifty visualization:

Twitter

And for the record, it's now dark at 5:30 instead of 6:00.

The change is coming, we're just a few years ahead of the gentrification. If I was buying today I'd be priced out of the neighborhood I live in, so its not like I can afford anywhere better.

It's really fine. I am safe in my home which is what matters most. I just have to figure out new strategies to stay sane.

I’d like yore steady sunshine, but I’d like to change the hours just a bit. Maybe 8-8 or 7:30-7:30. Can you request that?

Sure, time's just a human construct anyways. I'll propose a bill in legislature.

We need to set the time by making it 12:00 when the sun is 12:00 high.

can you do lunch time jog? Screw it if you smell for the rest of the day. A little victoria secret spray should cover that up.
Or trade afternoon hours for work at home?
Ive started leaving early on gym days just do I can get that done early, then go home and work for that extra time I took.

After all these years, I finally noticed that the Fall noon sun looks like a 4pm summer sun. Its just weird.

Yeah it changes to the Fire Stick when I hit home, but I wanted a universal remote so I can switch back to my Xbox without having to grab the TV remote. The only way to do this with the Fire Stick one is to talk commands at the remote like "Switch to input 2" and watch it stumble and stay on the same input or change to some other random one. It defeats the whole purpose of having the Fire Stick to turn on the TV/receiver.

I've actually gone reverse now since some update made my TV remote control the Firestick and receiver so that's all I need.

This is what we do (at least on standard time).

I propose we should synchronize on sunrise. 7am sunrise, year-round.

Heh, I never even considered a lunch break, I haven't taken one in years. I like to just power through the work day so its over sooner. But since I'm working from home, there's no incentive to beat traffic anymore, just the habit that stuck. I'll try this today.

Mid-week day off has me all discombobulated. At random times yesterday I kept thinking it was Saturday, Sunday then Monday. Woke up today feeling like it was Sunday then Monday. Rest of the week scheduling feels all ****ed up.

But segmented by time zones. You can live next door to someone and be an hour apart.

What if time became really specific, like you had to know the GPS coordinates to know the time. Real Time.

That'd be annoying.

We've got reservations at 6. It's a 30 minute drive, so we need to leave at 5:20, because they're 10 minutes ahead of us.

I'd be more inclined to fewer timezones, with sunrise syncronization for the middle of the timezone.

Two timezones for the continental US. Put the line through the Dakotas and Nebraska...that way nobody living next to each other would be an hour apart.

I bought three Firesticks and they all demolished their remote batteries in less than a month and we're not heavy users. I switched to Youtube TV after Playstation TV died and purchased Rokus and haven't looked back. No problems with remote batteries either.

One of the biggest issues with the work from home climate that I've seen is a resistance to taking time for myself to keep myself sane. Sure I waste some time here and there on this site, possibly looking up a couple of personal items on amazon or loading some dishes into the dishwasher. However, my sanity involves cardio, working out, etc and I have a tendency to work from the time I get my kids out to the door until they come home and then once they go to bed. Very difficult for balance.

There are some that want the world to use UTC. "what time is it in Japan?" 4pm, the same it is everywhere else in the world right now. "Is it dark at 4pm in Japan?" Who the **** knows? The Japanese.
