You have not seen terrible lume until you try a Vostok. Good charge will get you 30 seconds.

Maybe he would give you an OT discount and take $25 off to get you to your $500 target.
Yes, I should have mentioned. OT pricing will be less...skip, we could work out a cologne and cash deal or something. Did you ever end up getting rid of that bottle of Polo Red?

Me too; I'm very fond of session IPAs like Laguinitas DayTime or Stone's All Day IPA.

Yeah. I can wake up and read the time easily. Super bright lume is cool and all, but if it's unreadable after a couple hours what good is it?

I had Lagunitas DayTime earlier in the week. It's great. I REALLY like Heady Topper but it's so damn hard to get. Pretty much can only buy it in Vermont

Thank you for the suggestions, I'm pretty sold on the Nighthawk. It was meant to be, there was an ad on craigslist for one, meeting him this weekend to check it out.

Nope, never got a hold of one. But I'm just being lazy. I love that stuff.

Thank you for the deal offer though

I sold my Olivier to some guy in CA, but when my wife shipped it on weds, along with a bunch of coffee orders, she neglected to get a tracking number.

The buyer asked for a tracking number yesterday, which I ignored, then again today with a bit of worry in his tone. In a moment of weakness, I told him I didn't have one, explained what happened. So...

Kind of weird, I now feel like I could get screwed. Place your bets!

How was it shipped? USPS?

If you have the receipt they can likely still help you out. Just because you didn't get the tracking # doesn't mean there isn't one...

It's nice when it can be reaffirmed that there are still good people out there

Glad it worked out okay.

Wife told me I can spend $1000 for our anniversary coming up. What should I get?

Oris, Hamilton, and Christopher Ward come to mind at that price point. Chris Ward redesigned their whole C60 line and it falls under $1000

I decided to pull the trigger on a set of Ebay Citizen style silicon straps for my Timex beater. Not bad.
Stock straps...

No, I did notice the buckle was upside down until I tried to put it on

I'm not sure if it's because it's a 22mm lug opposed to a 20, but its considerably longer than the actual Citizen one, and the printing is in a different spot.

Also fit a 24mm China Nato on my 23mm lug Eco Promaster. Pretty much the only other strap that I can fit on this thing.

Depends upon the style you want, but watches I like in that range include Stowa Antea, Sinn 556a, Seiko Tuna SBBN015, Squale 50 ATMOS Blue. If you are willing to buy used, there are a lot of Balls that retail for $1500 but sell for $1000 or less.

That's the bigger problem, I don't know what I'm wanting. All of my watches are divers except for my Fortis Cosmonauts chrono and my Maratac Pilots. I really need something dressier than what I have, but I have specific tastes. I'd love something like a C. Ward C65 but with a domed crystal like a Black Bay. Something like that would be perfect. So dressy, but still toolish like a Rolex Milgauss, an Omega Aqua Terra, etc.

edit: I like the way .brian. thinks.

^ SC WRX has some good suggestions.

I'd look at a Ball Engineer II, if you're not opposed to buying used.

Here's one I found on timezone - $795 OBO:

This is a good option, or a gently used Oris Small Seconds. I love mine.

Timex Weekenders are on sale at Amazon today for ~$30, plus another 30% off.

Nothing to write home about, but it'll net you a nice beater watch for the price of Chinese takeout for two.
