You mastered "riding at the speed of stopped" and "falling down in river with iPhone in pocket." Here are your merit badges.

The ATV is commonly called a quad (quad-bike) in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and parts of Canada. They are used extensively in agriculture because of their speed and light footprint on the soil.

When is the last time your dirt bike climbed a hill of boulders and loose rocks? Try going down a creek that is nothing but football size rocks on your dirt bike...not. |

Helmets would have been the proper move. And yes, there was beer involved. Kids, don't do what Donnie Don't does. We were doing it the unsafe way. That said... I was sober enough and rode slow enough to feel comfortable with the danger level. |

Yeah, it's easier and lazier on a quad, more fun and safer on a dirtbike. |

I guess since you are so familiar with where I ride I will just stop posting and let you speak for me. Oh BTW I grew up riding enduro in upstate NY there...but of course you know so much more so I will just leave my first hand real world experience out of this and we will revel in generalizations and stereotypes FTW. |

Now with actual experience owning one I have a different outlook. I also have a friend who was dead set on getting a dirt bike also change his mind after riding down in the creek with me. Not only can you tackle extreme terrain that you would have to walk a bike over (if you can even do that) but you can do it with a rifle and a whole mess of equipment. It's not even a contest. |

I disagree, but whatever. I can't show you what I have ridden through and over, so it's a moot point. We can agree to disagree, just wear more gear plze.

I saw a guy riding a unicycle the other day. I bet it can go lots of places. Doesn't mean it's the right vehicle for most riders. The quads were easy to get moving and easy to control. No way I would have even pondered going on the creek on a bike, the rocks would have resulted in insta-crash. I'm sure Bob is such an awesome rider he would just glide across the surface of the water, but I can't imagine it would be easy. |
