sure no problem. the seiko 5 series watches are great watches for the price, albeit not the fanciest the market has to offer. you never specified your price range, though. i'll vouch for the one i linked personally, i wear it daily

cool. price range is anything up to $700 - looking for something that I can keep for a long time. getting tired of swapping bands in my seiko sportura, and thought I needed a metal watch. anything else you'd recommend?

i kind of want a tracer, and it seems to fit your criteria well. http://www.traserh3watches.com/en/wa...gory.php?kat=5 also, find the official watch thread on here. there are people much more knowledgeable than me in there. edit - http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...313455&page=42 |

In my quest for a cheap watch with a sapphire crystal a new contender has seemingly arrived
https://www.timex.com/expedition-nor...ap-Watch.html? I like smaller watches but admit 36mm seems tiny. |

Consider used? Auto/mech or quartz?
For the price that Timex is hard to beat IMO, but I'm biased toward field/pilot watches. If you are into automatics, the glycine combat 6 is very similar aesthetic, slightly larger but wears small for it's size, and great used ones can be had for $250 or less if you're patient. |

After many years of not wearing any watch at all, I bought Casio A185WA. I'm shocked how much attention it brings, more than my boss's Rolex.

Solios. I love mine. Bought it just before a work conference and got some nice compliments. Under $300, sapphire crystal, solar-powered but doesn't look like it, classy and comfortable mesh metal band. You can customize your face color/size, setting, and band colors/materials for the same price (leather bands are available too). Engraving is also an option.

man, I was hoping I could pimp out the simpler side of Swatch.
I love my inexpensive Swiss watches! lots of people don't realize they make 'adult' options in addition to the flashy plastic options, and they keep time as well as any other brand. |
