Cable TV prices and downloading TV shows...
... so with more and more TV shows letting you simply download episodes onto your computer, wouldn't you think that cable TV would become cheaper??
After all, if I only want to see one show on a certain channel, and now I can legally download it, why would I pay an extra $20/mo to get the extra cable package which is the only way for me to get that channel??

Of course not. Cable networks have been bundling more and more crappy channels no one watches because they know they can.
When someone comes in and offers a-la-carte cable shows for $1.50/mo, that's when things will start to change. I'd get all the local channels (probably a package), espn/2, fox sports, cnn, comedy central, cartoon network, discovery, national geographic, and maybe a few more... One thing, though. Most of these "watch latest episode for free" (like ABC) or download for a fee (iTunes, etc) are on network television, not cable. |

Just get a TV video card, plug your existing coax/RCAs, in and record your own. FTW

As an example, the Power Block on Spike TV (cars shows on Sunday morning) you can simply download episodes. (I actually have NOT downloaded any of those shows, but have been noticing a trend with this becoming more common.) For instance, I only pay $10/mo for basic cable... but to get to watch the 3 or 4 shows that I really want to (ex: Battlestar Gallactica), I would have to bump my cable bill too like $40+/mo. F that! If SciFi ever lets you download episodes, I would be thrilled. |

Here in my hood, the minimum price for cable is $54/month. Jeebus f'ing hell christ. I only watch like 5 channels. All basic ABC, CBS, NBC, etc.
But no, I have to get a friggen $50+ a month package from Time Warner. Internets is $40/month too. With that said, I don't have anything at my place. I use an antenna for two channels and watch lots of DVD's. |

Its a TV player, basically Cable TV Online.. Everything is legal about it. You get to select the channels you want to watch on the left side of the program. Pretty straight forward.
I've been using it for like 3 months now. I found out through a friend. The video quality is up to par, if you have a good connection you are good. Comedy central, animal channel, usa, superstation, espn hbo bunch of chinese channels... Here i just found there link to the website. http://www.tvunetworks.com/index.htm |

I just found out that Cartoon Network has a bunch of their shows available online too. One more reason to say F U to Comcast.
