How is the roll cage at this point? Cause any noises to pop up?

It's fine. Yeah there are occasionally some squeaks from rubbing on the interior trim, but nothing I find too annoying. Some creaks when going over uneven surfaces as well. It's fine for a daily driver in my opinion, but I also don't mind a noisy car.

Got some ARP long studs on the way, but couldn’t resist fitting the LMs on. 8mm spacers all the way around.

Collecting parts for a Tomei head rebuild.
Oversized valves, valve seats and guides pictured. Still have to get the titanium retainers, springs, some shims, and cams. Hopefully I’ll have everything I want for a rebuild in 2022. |

Well, this package was a bit over $1,000.
Oversized Valve set: ¥47,237 Valve guides: ¥23,231 Valve seats: ¥54,207 Going with a set of Tomei Procams: 260 Intake 264 Exhaust. The set will be about $1,000 as well. Then the retainers and springs are looking to be around $700. So call it 3 grand just in parts to do all the Tomei stuff. Still debating on whether or not to get the adjustable cam pulleys. Haven’t had that discussion with my tuner yet. If he feels there will be a big benefit to using them, then I’ll have to fit them in the budget. I would also like see about changing the crank pulley to ATI or Fluidampr. Still doing research on that though. But may have to leave that on the back burner for a bit. Quick update:
Got the valve springs in to add to the Tomei parts hoard. Also have the titanium valve spring retainers on order, but they're out of stock for 6 months or more. Good thing I'm in no rush. Likely the last purchase for awhile. But I am planning on pulling the trigger on a set of cams at the end of the year. Also in, a Cusco front member brace. Planning to color match it to the body during my spring holiday. Since the front bumper will be off for the install, I'm also planning to swap out the headlight housings as the current ones have broken mounting tabs. |

We got a nice dusting yesterday. It’s been a few years since Subie-chan saw snow. It usually accumulates pretty good in the mountains, but never in the city.

I love the bugeyes so much; I'll own one someday.
You have a beauty on your hands here. The silver is super underrated and looks surprisingly good with the gold wheels. |

Thanks. It was nice and didn't accumulate on the pavement, so I didn't have to shovel, which was the best part. Quote:
The ones with no rash are a bit pricy for a factory wheel. All of mine have some rash and paint damage, but not too bad. One of mine with summer tires got pretty messed up and doesn't balance so well anymore though, so that's a bummer. I'm thinking about getting the winter set refinished and using them with summer tires, and switching the summer ones over because of that. Quote:
Honestly, I love the silver. After shooting the car in black and white I fell in love with the silver and gold combination. You can see the body lines so clearly. After I get the body where I want it to be, I can't wait to get the paint refreshed. Just need the Varis hood, Chargespeed roof vane, and Do-Luck body kit. It'll be stunning. Got this in awhile back. Took of the NACA sticker to put back on after color matching it to 01G silver paint code.
We’ll be on spring break in just about 4 weeks. I’ve put in for the time off so I’ll have time to paint and install it then, among other things. Also looking forward to painting the side mouldings black and covering up the chrome again, as well touching up the hood scoop and left side mirror. It’s going to be a busy spring holiday again. |

The weather is perfect today and I’m home alone and motivated, so it’s time to get some work done.
Got rid of the Cusco blue and put on the subie silver. Changed out the wheel studs for longer kyo-ei ones which are fitting on really nicely. Running a 10mm hub centric spacer. Yes, I’m aware of the downsides. I’ll only be running them with these wheels on which won’t be all the time. Probably not even most of the time. Still have to finish the fronts. I started with the rear because they seem to be more of a pain to get done. Last edited by Kochi_STi; 03-15-2021 at 08:25 PM. |

The front studs are much easier to change for sure. As usual, your car is looking great.

Thanks. I’m glad I did the rears first. Better to have the easy job after lunch.
