2009 Impreza Outback Sport help needed.
Hello,
New to Imprezas but I've had an '01 Forester since 2013. I just bought this VERY good condition Impreza Outback Sport for my teenage son. It's got a few issues and parts that need replaced, as well as timing belt service due. I just need to drive it 230 miles from the dealer back to my house. It has some dried seepage from the radiator upper (possibly lower also) along the crimp, but doesn't appear to be spraying fluid out at all after reaching NOT. It has the blue coolant in it. The radiator will be replaced ASAP. (1) Can I use the cooling conditioner with additional blue coolant to help retard any seepage JUST in order to drive it home, until I get a chance to replace the radiator? (2) If I have to replace the radiator on-site at the dealer lot, what metric sockets and tools do I need? Experience with my Forester tells me a 10mm, 8mm, and angled needle nose pliers to release the clamps. Anything else besides new coolant? Thanks for helping with advice if you can.
