Default Aerosim-Research - Beware!

Stay away from this shop unless you want to support a thief. Placed order for full carbon kit plus roof panel November 2018. Paid full amount up front, $7100.00, as required by Stephen Ramm owner and operator of Aerosim Research. Kit was never delivered nor was a refund ever issued. After a year of being patient communication utterly ceased when refund was requested. To this day, 3/1/21, no reason has been given for lack of refund. Filed small claims suit and after 3 extensions and trying several different avenues, papers were not able to be served. Mr. Ramm seems to be hiding from myself and others he has robbed. There is a special place for people like this, sad since he once was supported so well by the subie community.

Unfortunatly had the exact same experience.
Purchased a carbon body kit for $5,500 in 2018. Was told would be approximately 5-7 months to complete. As soon as paypal payment was made communication started to deteriorate. To this day no body kit and no refund.
Interesting his Facebook page has been taken down as well as his Google business account.
Guess this is one of those live and learn things..

I've heard way back in the day that people waited several years to get their body kits but eventually they got them, not sure what he was advertising the wait time to be...seems excessive

Interesting his Facebook page has been taken down as well as his Google business account.

More interesting is that his website is still up but the only links that work are the "shop" page, where he has now raised the price on his kits to $7500 and the price on all his roofs by ~$300, and the email contact form. It also looks like he has posted to the blog at the bottom of the page indicating he was doing aerospace work but is now accepting people's money again for parts.

I understand waiting for quality but what he has done to his customers over the last couple of years is unacceptable. I happen to know through personal communication that he also burned one of Renner Racing's clients, same car that they ended up using The Project's carbon kit that they show on their Facebook page, also never refunded, and ceased communication with. A shop that advertised, sold, and installed more of his kits than anyone and he burned them and their client.

Yes, his kits WERE the best out there, but when someone undertakes a project like a ground up build there is a critical path to completion with a lot of cogs in the wheel. I'm supposed to store my car for 3 years while I wait for Aerosim to get his **** together? Of course with any extensive build you expect some bloody knuckles and delays but, when you have a major piece of the puzzle who simply abandons you halfway through the project after taking your money, ...what do you expect from your customers Steve?

I waited nearly a year before asking for a refund and he actually had the nerve to try and make me feel guilty for not understanding all of his problems and made claims of not building kits anymore because of it. Be a man, you are/were allegedly running a business Mr. Ramm.

Thought I would resurrect this thread. He also stole my money as well. Paid him in the fall of 2018 and still have no kit or refund.

Bummer to hear

I've heard he's now making CF aero bits for Porsche's and selling them through one of the online Porsche parts/tuning stores, not sure which but could check. Mention it because I see you own one. Would really suck to inadvertently give him more of your hard earned (not stolen) money.

Only issue with lawyering up against a parasite like this is it will be like extracting blood from a stone.

You will win in court and never collect. This parasite clearly adept at this point, probably has 38 llcs with a coffee table a chair and a phone as assets.

Especially with a business like carbon layup, only raw materials are carbon and epoxy, maybe some plywood. Each order could be its own llc at 5k plus an order.
