Ha! great timing. Really gives that picture some narration.

That watch looks great.

I'll wait for the Invicta and/or Chinese knock offs.

Got my Seiko Turtle today in the mail. Really like it so far in the 20 minutes I've played with it. Currently using a basic black NATO, but the bracelet it came with is fairly nice too.

I was out shopping with the fam at our local nice mall (South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa) that happens to have a ton of high end watch boutiques.

I pop my head in the Omega boutique and they had the new Speedy Pro on display (arrived earlier in the week) and I tried it on.

Omega redesigned the lugs so it curved around my wrist better than the old one and overall sat well for a 41mm case.

Dammit, it's now on my radar again for a Chronograph

I am just going to say this before anyone else....

The new Zenith Sport Chrono is NOT a homage to the Daytona. The Dayton exists because of the Zenith El Primero.

No Zenith = no Daytona. Something can’t be an homage if it came first.

Kind of similar to how a lot of ppl sneer at Hydrox cookies for being a 2nd rate Oreo imitation, when in fact Hydrox came out first.

I totally agree with you. I suspect the typical Rolex fanboi isn't aware that the Daytona had a Zenith movement back in the day. While I like the Zenith Sport Chrono a lot especially the white dial variant, I wished it looked more unique.

I thought the Daytona started with a hand-wound Valjoux movement? Like, Newman-era Daytona.

Or do those not count as a "Daytona" in the modern lineage?

Rolex used the Zenith movement in the Daytona from 1988 until 2000. Rolex released the auto Daytona in 1988, prior to that is was a manual wind I think.

FB ad, but intriguing and there are some low sale prices if you look around.

Some decent lume options and Tritium.

A modified El Primero running at 4hz among other things.

Sure, modified, but without Zenith the Daytona doesn’t exist in its present form and function, modified or not.

Just being specific. I’d rather have an El Primero than a 4030 or 4130 anyway.

As an El Primero owner I support this decision.

I am just here to say the new El Primero Sport Chrono is amazing and I want one in the worst possible way. But cannot handle a 10k dollar watch. The thought of that just make me a tad nauseous

1. rmbrady, enjoy that turtle. I really like mine, considering another.

2. I've been seeing that new Zenith pop up on all my social medias. It's working, I want one, or an el primero. Maybe that will be my next grail? I haven't purchased a watch in MONTHS

3. I've also found myself thinking about that Seiko 5 Ryu. Yes it's a bit cheesy. Yes I am a man-child. If it was $100 less expensive I'd probably have one by now.

Once it's available, I'm sure you will be able to find one for a decent discount. I bought my moonphase El Primero with a hefty 40% off discount from Jomashop, granted it was grey market not an AD. Then again, it will still be expensive even with a discount, just not Rolex daytona expensive.
