Default RF antenna question

I bought a $20 dual relay board with a 433Mhz remote for a project. The board came in a nice little plastic enclosure, but I'm using it in a much larger enclosure.

The antenna wire on the board is a wound up in a spiral.

Is that so it would fit in the little plastic box? Or is it intentionally that shape for proper function?

Can I straighten it out for improved reception since I have more space in the larger enclosure?

I like how these threads start for one thing and end up going somewhere else.

Went from "is my coiled antenna going to work?" to "uh oh, I may be on a list now"

oh Ot, you keel me...
