235's on a GD WRX?
Curious about fitment of 235/45 17 tires on my '04 WRX. Wheels are 17x7 Prodrive +53. 215 were stock and most run 225, I know. Seems like a stretch but I have the tires from my '20 WRX and don't have a use for em and seems like a cheap way to put new rubber on the '04.

they should fit. I had that same tire size on my 06 STi when i picked it up, switched to a 245/40 from my second set of tires onward. tires did rub the inside fender but the car was also super low when i bought it, which i suspect was the reason.
i was running those on the oem bbs wheels, so i'm not sure if you would have more or less clearance inboard on your setup. I think it would be more since yours is a 7' wide setup with the same offset, but i'm sleepy and dont feel like mathing to figure that out lol |

I'm running 255 on my bugeye, but it took some fender massaging. You may need to use some spacers to reduce the offset a bit, but they should fit. Those tires a little wider than typically run on 7" wheels though.

They will fit just fine, especially if you stick with a +48 wheel. If you try to run something silly like a +35 wheel, then you're going to have issues.
Folks run 245s on GCs, which are even narrower just fine. |

My '02 has OEM 2017 WRX Dunlop Sport Maxx tires in 235/40/17 on 17x7.5 +48 wheels on JDM STI pink springs. Zero rubbing.

Fits perfect. Car should have come with that size from the factory. Pay attention to offset of course. As long at it is close to the stock offset you should be fine.

Most WRX had 16's but the optional 17" size was 215/45.
I've decided to go another route and buy some all seasons, probably DWS06+ as my winter tires are old too and for as little as I drive it, one set of tires/wheels is fine and I can keep the Prodive's on year round. Thanks for the replies. |

meh, pretty close. New all season performance tires are light years better that what they used to be. Good enough for what I use it for.

I ran the last few summers on my DWS06 instead of my Pilot Super Sports... I'm actually really impressed at how well they do. They can get a little greasy when hot on a 95F day when cornering, but they are damned sticky otherwise.
