Default Engine Air Intake Resonator on a 2007 STI?

I need some help sourcing a part. I can't manage to find it no matter where I look. https://parts.subaru.com/p/Subaru__/...4474AA020.html
This is the link on SOA. I can't find it for the life of me, and my current one has a hole in it. I have tried to patch it up seeing as how I can't find a replacement, but it doesn't hold. It goes underneath the intake manifold near the secondary air injection valve on the driver's side of the engine.

Site states part is discontinued.

Try your nearest dealer, they might be able to help you locate one.

Make a post asking for the fender silencer in the classified section. Many people still have them in their garage.

I'd send you mine for $15 if I hadn't chopped it up with a Dremel to make an intake elbow.

Aww that's unfortunate thanks anyways! Yeah, I will make a quick post to see if anyone has one.

Yeah I have looked everywhere online and no luck. My local dealer doesn't have any either. I am going to try a few wreckers near me though. Thanks for the advice!

Turns out they don't have anything like that, nor seen it very often. So I am at a loss.

Sorry, I'm 67 y/o, why do you want to replace it ? My son removed the one on my 2005 Legacy GT wagon a few weeks after I bought the car, June 28 2004. I think it's still in the basement somewhere. I also think we removed the one on my Spec B too, years ago.

Do you think just capping off that hose would cause any issues? I realize that it's supposed to help with noise to some capacity, but I wasn't sure if it would cause any issues just deleting it.

It would be part no. 14865AA002 in the link. It's a Y hose that goes from the air pump to the singular secondary air injection valve and the resonator in question. Would that be an issue if I just capped off the resonator end? or even found a hose that can just go directly from the pump to the valve without the Y shape?

No need to cap it, leave it open. My car has 303,700 miles on it. No issues from that.

I was confused about what this has to do with the air pumps, but it looks like this might be a different part than what is attached to the intake system in the passenger-side fender, which is what I think everyone has been assuming.

Diagram is here:
https://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru__/...11-050-23.html

https://parts.subaru.com/images/part...1_05001649.png

I would find some Subaru salvagers and send them the part number and diagram so they know what you're looking for. Sounds like there's one in Colorado as mentioned earlier in the thread, Persad Parts in Alabama (https://www.persadparts.com/) parts out Subarus, so that would be another option and would likely ship.

Also, are you sure that the hole isn't original or is it noticeably damaged? I believe that the intake resonator in the passenger fender has a small hole drilled in the bottom to let water drain. If it's not a drain hole, then find a replacement from a salvage yard.

Looks like you're going to need some luck since that part appears to be only for the 2007 STI.
