Exclamation Affiliation Program

Hey guys,

Most of you know that I am working on a new i-club website. It is going to be a very well laid out and organized site. It will be an actual "Club" site.

I would really like for you guys to start a Legacy Club of North America (or you can call it whatever you want) which will be an affiliate of an i Club. The page shouldn't be big. All it really needs to have is basically anything that will not be listed on the main i Club website. Just like NESIC, HIIC and SCIC i Club affiliates' websites. They are called "regionals" right now, but they will be renamed to "affiliates". You will still have your forum, of course.

The reason I want to have a Legacy website, is simply becuase I can't make it myself. You guys know your cars better than I do. Having a better organization of sub-devisions of i Clubs will provide a better club coverage.

Let me know what you guys think and if you need help picking you leader, which I am sure you already have.

Let's Rock n' Roll Subaru Enthusiats!!!

I on the otherhand could probably do some kind of website, but don't have the time...

If someone in this group wants to take on the challenge, I'll definitely help out and give pointers. Maybe we should make the Legacy portion a catch-all for non-impreza stuff (Forester, Legacy, Outback, SVX, etc.)

I'll try to get some stuff setup over the weekend, maybe a general layout. I'll post it up on a sub-directory of my company page.

You can try checking for it at:

Imprezer, I would love to do something with a Legacy web site but the fact is I have absolutely positivly no idea about how to go about making a web page, and after reading about how to even try and get started with all this "html code" stuff, I don't have much of a desire to learn It may be like breathing to someone that is into that stuff, but for me it's like reading japanese.

However, having been around Legacys quite a bit, I'd love to contribute any of the little information I do know about the cars to someone who CAN do something with a web site. Sorry, but I'm just no help with computer stuff

Unhappy

<small>I'm only responding here so that Imprezer, et al, know that they aren't being ignored...</small>

I'm currently getting more into web development, but, with the projects I'm already doing, my regular job, and my wife and 7 month old to keep happy, I haven't the time to spend on it.

I have planned to get a Legacy (preferably GT) site going... But, like all things, that seems to always remain in the future.

I think it is a great idea to start a Legacy specific page :-) I used to have a program called Microsoft Frontpage (I think), this program allowed you to design a web-page without having to know any html codes and such. Unfortunatly I lost the program when my hard drive crashed and the original copy is now with my friend in AZ! I think some of the sites that offer free web-pages may have some easy to use web-page designers as well. Although I don't have much information to offer I would be glad to help.

Hey,
I know i am new here and dont know most of you but I am willing to help and do have a fair bit of time. I in the business and am in control of 9 domains, 5 of which are mine so I have loads of server space!
Let me know, design wise I am pretty good and familiar with nearly all the languages.
I can also grab us a domain of our own if we want, so let me know.

I would also love to see one for Turbos only but I guess over here there just arent enough of them around...

Sorry,I'm late......

I think that the Web site is going to be great. we are going to have overlap from the Web site that we are getting when we "officialy" start managing the Subaru Enthusiast club, but there can never be too much info. As for just being a Legacy page I think thats cool, If we break down the pages in to a Legacy page, a Impreza Page(who has the Impreza Page??) and a group "enthusiast" page it will be better to manage. I do love my Impreza, XT, GL-10 and Outback Bretheren but a good Legacy page is very much needed. I will be meeting next Monday to sign the NW Subaru Enthusiast club's checking account over and transfering the Club (as it is recognized by Washington State) in to my name shortly after.

Imprezer, If you need anything, mail my home E-Mail , I'll be more than happy to help out.

Ok folks, I'm going to try to work on this page this weekend, but before I get started, I want to know who is in or if someone else is going to run it?

I really need you guys to gather up a few things which would be of imense help.

1) Scanned photos of Legacys and other non-imprezas

2) Verbage we can use for mods, etc.

3) Posts on here about what you want on the site. ie:Mods section, members section, etc. etc.

4) I can't doo too much cgi and interactive stuff, but I'll do my best to make it look decent.

5) I use Front Page 2000 so hopefully whoever winds up doing the hosting in the end will have the extensions for FP2000.

-mike

PS: Post any ideas pics, etc. or e-mail em to me [email protected]

I have some pic's of my '92 Turbo with 17" Speedlines. What format would you prefer, Gif, jpg, pdf? How big of a file do you want?

I vote for Paisan to do the preliminary gathering/layout and Flatfour to do the final tweaking and hosting :-)

Either JPEG or GIF is fine. Size doesn't matter (I have a DSL line so DLing them is no problem)

I didn't get a chance to put anything together I'll try tonight, if not, then likely Friday night.

Do the I club guys mind if I steal some of their graphics?

I would be more than happy to help with the Legacy Forum and pages. I currently use Front Page 2000, but I'm still learning alot about it. I have lots of Legacy pic's, but not many tuning tips, I've only autocrossed it twice, so I'm still figuring out set-up vs. the mighty dollar bill
