Question Trying to create account on NASIOC IMG site

I made an account on NASIOC img website but for some reason the account activation emails are not coming through. I've tried to resend the activation email about 10 times but nothing is coming through. Anyone else have this issue? Anyway to resolve this?

I just post my photos on fb. then on the desktop site open just the image in its own tab. then copy link and
push the little image icon when your composing your post here and insert the link. Might have to remove the http nasioc automatically puts in front. Or paste the link inbetween these with another bracket in front IMG]link here [/IMG]

I think the email notification service breaks occasionally for NASIOC, I had this problem within the past couple years when trying to update the email address associated with my account. There's gotta be support contact info around here somewhere.

My latest odd issue with the image site is that I couldn't upload JPEG photos taken with my Pixel 2 phone. I could upload some other modified photos or transfer photos from imgur to the NASIOC image site, but I'd get a server error on the originals (they weren't too big).

EDIT: Go to the very bottom of the page and click on the 'Contact Us' link, select the 'Registration Problem' option and describe the issue.

This was a recent issue which seems to be getting resolved. I’m now getting emails from the site that I wasn’t for the past few weeks.

I'm having the same issue too, and to add insult to injury when I tried to use the contact form, I got an error message:

Quote:
Mail error: SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMail...roubleshooting
So clearly, something isn't working with the server's mail system…

It took me about twenty times to get through the registration. Couldn't read the "charecter" request either.

Here is how I was able to embed photos in NASIOC posts:

1) Set up a (free) Flickr account
2) Upload photos to your Flickr account (up to 50 for a free account)
3) For any given photo, click the Share icon (curved arrow) on the lower right

4) In the Share dialog box that appears, click the BBCode tab and copy that code

5) Come back to NASIOC and paste the code in your draft post
6) Preview the post, edit as desired (e.g., I remove the "XX by NAME on Flickr" for each photo)
7) Repeat; you can embed up to 10 photos on an NASIOC post

Hope this works for you and others.

Cheers!

Interesting. I thought the whole point of the NASIOC Images site was that Nick had disabled the ability to link photos from another host; I know it no longer works using my own personal website, and I've seen others try to share images posted elsewhere and nothing shows up. But I can see your Flickr images just fine.

Nick disabled nothing. First Photobucket stopped allowing free photos to post elsewhere, then another (I think Imgur) did the same. The reason for the img.nasioc site was to control the allowance to post elsewhere. If you post somewhere besides nasioc, it doesn't work.

Whatevs.

Is anyone else having problems getting the NASIOC Images site to open? I haven't been able to access the site for 4 or 5 days now, either at work or at home (different browsers, different computers).

Yes it's broken. No ETA on a fix yet, sorry.

If NASIOC needs someone else on the payroll I too can provide no information on the behind-the-scenes efforts to fix all of the issues plaguing the image site and email notification system for the last several months (years at this point?).

I hadn't checked between a week ago and today, so I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but NASIOC Images appears to have been fixed.

Yes the server appears to be back online now. I don't know if the previous email issues are fixed or not, that was a separate matter.

I'm still having issues with outlook email address at least. Not getting anything through about 10 attempts and whitelisting the email address even though nothing's showing in my junk folder

I’m still having issues as well. Not receiving an email to confirm/create an account.

The signup emails are still not being sent out.

What took down the site, wasn't what was preventing new registrations. They are distinct issues.

Anyone else having trouble logging into their image hosting site account? When I go to the page from my bookmarks my account pops up with all of my pictures, but I am logged out and getting a username/password error. I know the password, not to mention it is saved in my browser.

I have the site in my bookmarks so it redirects to my page and I can view pics and links, but it's not letting me sign in. I guess I can try to reset my password but I'm wary with how things have been over the last several months.

edit: I tried to reset the password, the wheel was spinning and nothing happened. No email or page refresh etc. F

edit2: I entered my email address instead of username and I got a message saying to wait 15 mins for an email.

edit3: No email for password reset. Just tried again.
