NOT the same! But PERRIN is offering an 08 WRX SEdan muffler only kit as well as a cat-back.

Does anyone know what the black plastic latch looking things on the exterior of the car between the doors and roof are?
You pop those latches out to attach the optional roof rack.

Btw, I'm in Switzerland and have test driven both the 2.0R (non-turbo) and the 2.5 WRX turbo versions and I've been wondering about the clutch also. The clutch on the 2.0 is definitely lighter therefore it's easier to drive it in the city but the WRX actually needs a bit less shifting in a way compensating for this.
I assume the WRX clutch is heavier to put up with the extra HP but is there a way to adjust this?
The shifter feels a bit sluggish/notchy also, would a short shifter help that?

This would be my first Subaru so I don't have any experience of living with one yet. Here in Switzerland the WRX goes for $38000 with the Nav system so I better like it! However, on the other hand there are incredible fun mountain switchbacks in the Alps you can drive it on that will make you forget all the other stuff...

I also thought about just getting the 2.0R non-turbo which with it's 150 HP is just about OK, but it's $8000 less also including the Nav system. I figured you can't drive any faster than 120km/h (72Mph) on the highways anyways (the traffic cameras are brutal), it's easier in the city but it would be close to the same fun to drive in the mountains... maybe...what do you think?

I'll shut up now..

The price tags over here are running about $26,000 - 28,000 depending on options. I would assume the clutches are different from the 2.5 than from the 2.0 however don't quote me on that. The Cobb double adjustable shortshifter is available for the 2008 wrx and should help with your shifting concerns. I am unsure if their is a way to raise the clutch release point or not, im sure someone that knows will chime in with the answer. Sux to hear about your camera issues on the highways, 72 MPH won't even put you into 5th gear, I would go insane if I couldnt drive over 72 MPH. Several states out here have speed limits of 70. I'm still trying to figure out all the gadets on this car, just driving it today i got a warning icon, had to get out the manual to figure out that it was tellin me my tires were low.

Yeah, driving in Switzerland (and most of Europe) is a very different affair compared to the US. I lived on the East Coast and with the distances and long expenses of highways being what they are I felt you need a car with more room for a Lazy Boy inside for the 7 hrs of sitting-in-place exercise. About the only driving fun I ever had was the occasional patch of black ice and some gravel forest roads. Comfort and low noise is paramount for the long trips.

On the other hand, here in Switzerland you can forget about letting it loose on the highways (that's what nearby Germany is for) unless you want to take a break from driving for a few months. They'll take your license away for speeds 20 miles over the speed limit! But where I live (near Geneva) I have the most amazing mountain switchbacks near me within a 10-30 minutes drive with very little traffic and no traffic cameras. However the occasional cow lurking just around the corner can be quiet detrimental to your rally aspirations...

With traffic being nowhere near as bad as on the East Coast driving a manual transmission is actually viable and I had tons of fun even in an 80 HP VW Polo because of it's nimble handling. I gotta find the way to test the Subie on the same roads but I hope 150 HP should be fun enough to do the same. I see that in the US it's 170 HP from the 2.5L so I wonder how that feels over there?

Traded my '04 WRX Wagon with Black 18" Drag DR-19s for an '08 WRX Wagon... The dealer put my stock wheels back on the '04 and mounted the DR-19s onto the '08.

My '08 just looks mean (with the DR-19s). Salesmen at the dealership were taking snapshots of it before I was even able to drive it off the lot, hehe.

I'm running a 3" Ultimate Racing catback and a CAI on my 2008 Hatch. Running Kazera KZ-A rims in 17" as well. Tinted the windows and some minor cosmetic changes. Loving my 2008 more than my 2004 dare I say it. What's next is an AP stage 1 and maybe some springs.

pics of my hatch can be seen at my weblink.

We should be very close to being able to shipping AP's with base maps by the weeks end!

Yes the clutches have changed a bit over time, but that could just be old car/new car differences. The 08 does have a push clutch, but i think you will really like the 08!

Will the aftermarket mufflers from the legacy fit the 08wrxS...I see an AccessPort on ebay listed for the 2008 wrx and 07-08 Legacy GT..What will this do for me if anything stock or with just cat-back and/or mufflers and drop in upgrade filter..?
