They just good-willed my new struts at 62000 mi for what it's worth.

Then they gave me a 2400 estimate to replace the brake pads. lol

Dude, your STI had like 1500 miles when you traded it in. I remember driving it to the dealership and we were worried about turning over the next hundred miles (again, I think it was 1400 or 1500)

I guess I will avoid them also, I will take my car to either Patrick or I may give Ocean a try.

Thumbs up From Bad to very Good

I was told by Aaron if i were to get a good deal that i had to write something good and take away my previous post which i absolutly tore them up, hence my 12345 in like 4 threads... Bottom line just bought a brand new 2010 Forester XT from Exeter Subaru and i'll never go back to singer.

Moderators if you read this can you delete where i put from bad to very good. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

My friend had a bad experience with Singer Subaru. He found a GC 2.5RS four-door with slushbox for his wife on vehix.com. I went up there with him and his father-in-law on Wednesday to check out the car. At first, the salesman said, "This car isn't for sale." When they said it was listed on vehix.com, the salesman said, "Oh, it is?" We showed him the listing (which said to ask for the price) and went in to get the price... and didn't come back. We waited 45 minutes and even asked for him a couple of times, but he was AWOL. We left shortly afterwards.

i purchased my legacy from singer, only because they had the one i wanted. since then i had referred NUMEROUSE people to them. they made 8 sales off my referrals all of wich mentioned my name. all were told id be taken care of.
NOTHING!!! finally after i emailed the owner they gave me two $50.00 gas cards to mobile (the most expensive gas around). take a look at exeter subaru's referral program, $500.00 per sale. i wasnt looking for two grand but come on 100 in gas?

Exclamation Singer Subaru=All lies

I was lied to numerous times during my Dealing with them. Unfortunatly I did buy a car there, and I guess I am stuck going there for the mean time ( I got a used Subaru) I will however look elsewhere when I am ready to get a new car. and will use this as a learning experience.

?????????.........not sure I understand why someone would buy a car after being lied to numerous times. Next time try out Exeter Subaru......real good people there IMHO.

The Lies were after I bought the car. Things that were supposed to be included in the sale. I got the Standard "We Owe" Slip and I am still waiting for some of the We owe things 2 weeks later

Well, HI!

I found this thread by mistake searching for something else in google and read it with interest only to be horrified that this behavior has been going on for so long that the pronouns for the sales amnager has changed! Mr. Singer can defend the dealership all he wants but but the fact that the EXACT SAME ABUSIVE BEHAVIOR is performed by his sales and amnagemnt staff THREE YEARS after the initial postings gives little credit to his defence.

I had always heard good things about Singer so I went in and was looking at an '09 Forester and all was well. I came and went a few times and they were very helpfull and I drove a bunch of cars and we talked about all kinds of things and we had a great time driving cars and talking about things and I went home. I was undesided and that was OK by them. Well, I made up my mind. I stopped in and they kept me there for over three hours "negotiating" and by that I meen using every dirty trick that I have ever heard of car salesmen using and all kinds of tactics that are used to extract information from criminals and enemy spies, trying to get me to buy the car for more money than it was worth. In one instance the value of my trade shot up from a thousand dollars less than it was worth to six hundred dollars MORE than it was worth. That's OK though, while the left hand was doing that the right hand was changeing the "sale price" numbers so I was losing even more. In the end I just agreed so they would let me leave (long after closing) with the understanding that my wife would have to approve the deal. Needless to say, after a bit of food, water and some sleep it was clear that the deal was crap and she said no way! Hell, I wanted the car so I gave it another run the next morning. No go. I called up the salesman who refused to take my call and after I asked to be connected to his voice mail I left him a message letting him know there would be no deal. I thought that we would "part as friends" like the sales manager said, but that was not to be the case.

They called me the next day. The salesman started to argue with me about the situation.. I told him that it didn't matter what he said or what I wanted, the wife said no and that was the end of it. So he started yelling at me.Then, the sales manager is yelling in the back gound telling the salesman what to yell at me about. The manager was calling me names and cursing. This went on for a good ten minuits untill they hung up on me. I never got my deposite back, like they said would happen and we are not "friends" like they said we would be. I hate car salesmen more than ever and trust them less than ever since these guys were suppsedly the best around. Funny thing is that we weren't that far off on price and I didn't have my heart set on that particular car and if they had acted like profesionals instead of toddlers they STILL would have sold a car to me. As it is Iwouldn't buy so much as a quart of oil there and will probably not wind up buying a Subaru at all. Nice job fellas! The guys at the Toyota store say "Hi".

Thumbs up They're good guys.

I bought my WRX at Singer. Everything is in perfect condition, I was able to talk them down about $3000 on the price, and they were nothing but prompt and helpful. I almost walked away from the sale because they wouldn't go low enough for me, but they caved.

Just took it in for an oil change, and the service guys are great. Really friendly and helpful guys...

They did a great job, and I'm a happy Subie owner

When it comes to successfully buying a car, it's all about how YOU handle and control the situation, not how the salesman does. But that's just my opinion...

They were great at doing warranty service, took care of a few problems on my schedule, not theirs. However, their prices for service you pay for can be quite a bit high, they charged me $189 to change four standard (copper) spark plugs. That was thirteen dollars for each plug and the rest was labor.

No fair Title changed by behind the scenes UB40 fan Moderator

Was: Spoons player to be new UB40 singer.
Might have just been a merge with an older thread though

Actually I think the title is technically wrong now, but in any case is a spoons player and a man with a name like a sanitary towel a step forward?

didn't you ask first what it would cost? do u think they could of offerd you better platinum plugs. not even sure why you would even need to change plugs on a car a year old, normally plugs will last 50,000 miles (platinum)
so it took them over an hour to install plugs??? most engines can be removed in that time...

BUYER BEWARE!!!
When I awoke this morning I had the anticipation of writing this review with a positive customer experience. However that drastically changed when I arrived to the dealership after work to finalize the deal I had ironed out through several emails with their sales manager Joe.
We had gone back and forth with emails over the past few days and I had given him my monthly limit which was $270 as well as accurate trade information and once we agreed upon a monthly payment. I had my own financing I advised him of my rate 5.25 and the term 66 months. I was told by Joe ***128;***156;I can probably get you around $280 for 66 months, Tribeca will be done Monday. I just need to drive your trade make sure it is okay. I don't expect it to be perfect***128; I then responded ***128;***156;I could go up to $280 if the Tribeca had the rear entertainment***128; and Joe responded with ***128;***156;That should be okay They are installing that part right now. I will email you when they are done.***128;
Of course Joe was not present when I arrived there and I dealt with a very nice sales rep. Who went back and forth with the owner and the emails Joe and I had. Well of course the sales rep comes back with a number $3,000 more than what I was quoted After 20 mins of waiting with mu infant son in my lap fussy as ever. I immediately advised him to review the emails and call Joe. After about another 15 min he comes out again with a slightly lower number advising this was the best they could do. I advised him that it is not what I was promised and told him that it was very misleading. Immediately the Tyrant of an owner comes out and blasts me for telling the sales rep that their misleading. (Now im still holding my infant son and this barbaric is trying to convince me by speaking extremely aggressive to me that they are not misleading and he could say that on his own kids life as well as my child***128;***153;s. (whoa leave my kid out of this ) he is still practically yelling at me and barking his dealership is not a bait and switch***128;***128; (hmmmm this is the owner???) I can tell you one thing customer comes first is not their motto.. So the arguing over what the email says continues and the owner walks away after I point out to him the exact words in the email. He goes into his office and comes out again apologizes and says someone earlier that day accused him of bait and switch. (No surprise there, if this is how their dealing with other potential customers.) Mind you the couple next to me has just left because they were also quota one price and a completely different one upon arrival. So after the apology the owner goes back into his office and after a few minutes comes out again with $290 for 72 and no rear ent. package. No where near what the sales manager quoted me. I advised him again of what was quoted to me and he started speaking aggressively again. After this I decided I had had enough of his bullying and decided to leave advising them I would be posting my experience. On my way home the person who had looked at my car for the trade in value failed to latch the hood so that flew up on me and had I not been able to pull right over it could***128;***153;ve ended disastrous for myself and infant. Being a business owner myself I can assure you I have never acted or behaved this way with a customer especially if the person I hired quoted a customer a particular price. Myself I would do the admirable thing and honor that. Good luck to all you readers out there. ***128;***147;Katie-NH

My Review of Singer Subaru:
When Car was sold to me I was told "Free Inspection Stickers for as long as you own your car" however they fail to tell you that you must leave the "free Advertising plates and stickers" on the vehicle or no free sticker. a common case of the Bait and switch type scenearo.
Will I return there for another car? absolutely not!

I like this ad of theres...
VIN Number:JF1GF4355XH803142Stock Number:10117AExterior Color:Brilliant RedHighway MPG:29Transmission:AutomaticEngine:4 Cyl. 2.2Mileage:116001Notes:"WHOLESALE to the PUBLIC" Under this program, good quality, inexpensive trade-ins are sold to the public "As-Is, As-Shown" with NO representations good or bad. We Strongly recommend that our customers take these vehicles to their own mechanics for independant evaluations. That being said, this PARTICULAR CAR is a ONE-OWNER with a CLEAN CARFAX and a VERY Extensive Service History!!! It was traded with a valid Massachusetts inspection sticker and the customer told us it was in "great condition!"
notice where it says customer say's it was in great condition! like dont blame us if the car breaks down.. as if there not aware of any existing problems, they do check out cars before taking them in trade....
