Any real world 2022 wrx reviews?
Anyone willing to share their 2022 wrx reviews and comparisons?
Anyone know the performance comparison between the stock and performance exhaust? Anyone option the red front or side lips on their car? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No real review but I checked one up close yesterday and must say they look way better in person. I didn't hate the fenders at all on the one WRB they had.

I can say the same, but exactly the opposite. It looks even worse in person and anything other than black/dark grey draws attention to it in every wrong way possible.

It's really growing on me. I wonder what the non Harman Kardon stereo on the Premium trim sounds like. I wish I could get the better stereo without the moonroof that I'll never ever use.
Anyone seen a Magnetite Gray in real life? I don't want another black car, but grey would be really cool. It may be time to replace the 9-2x, since I don't have the time, inclination, ability, or patience to fix everything that needs to be done to it. |

I received mine late March and so far I love it. Drives really strong and the suspension is pretty stiff for a stock car (I don't mind it too much).
But it pulls really well. First and second gear go by so fast (gearing short as hell). The power is nice. Looks wise I personally don't mind it. I've seen pics online with them lowered on Silver's prototypes and I think it looks nice. The infotainment system has some getting used to. This morning I was trying to turn up the heat and you have to go into the settings and dial it up versus just pressing the red arrow button for heat. It seems like you have to have the fan on to draw in heat otherwise it's just outside temp air (I like to have the outside air heated coming into the cabin without running the fans. Seems like you can't do that?) I still have a lot to learn about this car though. My last Subaru was the 92x Aero so yeah. Looking forward to aftermarket parts and what tuners can do with the 2.4L FA24DIT. So far Prime is the only one that I've seen to make 300+whp WITHOUT tuning. All ECU learning. |

I'm still waiting for my dealership to get one, but as it currently stands, my 2019 WRX was probably my last new Subaru purchase...

Only have a few hundred miles on ours so no serious flogging yet. The looks have grown on me, and I think it looks better in person too.
Drivability wise it's similar to the last gen, but more refined. Suspension is not too harsh or too soft. It's definitely not STi sharp though. Power wise, it's W-A-Y better than the outgoing FA20. The last gen has such horrible power delivery. This gen looses some revs off the top of the tach, but the smooth linear power is very nice. Reminds me of a GTI actually. Finally, no rev hang! I think overall they did a good job. The larger displacement and lower factory boost levels means it should have decent headroom for making modified power too. |

What trim do you have? Personally, after having a base 2019 for a few years now, I am in the mindset to only go for top shelf, Limited trim, only for the three pedals or the GT trim if more tech is wanted and the CVT is non-issue. Also, what year GTI I you referring to? I had a 2004 with the 1.8t and power was decent, but not world-changing and was slightly better after adding a silicone turbo inlet hose. I'm guessing you are referring to a 2014+ GTI with the larger EA888 engine. The new WRX, and all of its newness, is still tough to look at despite Subaru ripping it straight from the Japanese/ROW market. Despite the plastic fender flares/cladding being a lot easier to remove and replace is still a huge area where Subaru could have done better. The Levorg from the same chassis has paint matched flares/cladding and looks 10x better. I know the looks will grow on ppl, and the aftermarket is going to be all over stuff to help it look better, but the new car is tough to swallow, especially the way the trims are packaged. Kudos to those that have bought a 22+ WRX. I will reserve further judgement until they are really out and about. I'm also certain ppl had reservations about the VA chassis when it first hit the streets and its equal length headers. |

It's a Limited with HK sound.
It was either an 18 or 19. I never owned it, I just had access for a few hours of seat time. I can't think of a single chassis release that the community accepted. It's almost comical how a new gen gets bashed to death. Years ago I remember thinking, 'oh wow, everyone hates this car, it will never sell and be the last one they make, because everyone hates it.' Now I know it's just part of the grieving process from the death of the previous gen. |

Another real world update: week 3 of owning my new 22' WRX and a coworker dinged my door and scratched the paint
They agreed to pay for the fix, but now I gotta shop around for estimates. Less than 1,000 miles.. |

I just got my 22 Silver limited and I plan on doing a youtube review soon. Ive owned 4 total now, 2013/2015/2020/2022.
Quick thoughts: More space, much needed noticeable refinement improvement, smooth mechanicals (transmission/ride/engine), better looking in spite of the cladding/rear baboon butt, continued evolutionary interior improvement, significantly better seats very comfortable, and infotainment has a learning curve along with the turn signal stock. |

The Mk4 [GTI] was the dog-poop generation (heavier, more bloated than the Mk3 cars and less power) The NC Miata looked to "bubbly" and fat compared to the NB it replaced in 2006. Don't get me started on the Wrangler JK move to the JL , oh, wait, nevermind.... The worst new gen release, that I can think of when ppl really flipped was when Porsche wet from the 993 (air-cooled) to the 996 (water-cooled). End of the world chaos.... Given time, the VB will look "normal"; but it still needs time... |

Can't really complain about the flares on my '22 WRX GT, but it's in the Crystal Black Silica color, so they hide themselves well in the darker paint. If I were to do anything with the flares at all it would be to remove the rear flare reflectors. In their place I'd like to put some functional vents like what is on the front flares.
As far as the feel of the CVT on the GT, I'm liking it. The trans control computer mimics the feel of a geared trans well enough that I wouldn't easily realize it was a CVT without knowing about it before driving it. Slight disclaimer here: I've never driven one of the '21 and older CVT equipped vehicles, so keep that in mind when reading my feedback on trans feel. BTW: Is there going to be a '22 model year sub forum added anytime soon? I've got a few WRX GT specific questions, but don't really know where to post them. |

Dirty Racing Products has one they are flogging on a road course in Florida in stock form and after making changes both performance and appearance. IAG has one they are "improving" as well and are posting on YouTube.

22 premium 6 speed. Seems to handle better than my 18 and wheel a bit more responsive. Clutch and gear box are effortless and smooth. Makes me want the sti shifter now for a bit more sporty feel. The 11" screen is cool too and easy to use.so far I'm a fan

I like our 22 a lot more than I did the 15 WRX. I can't think of a single aspect I preferred in the 15. Not that the 15 was a terrible car, it was still fun. The 22 is just a decent step better.
We have a limited with the STi shifter, which is nicer than I expected. We've installed GrP-N Trans and motor mounts and it made the usual decent improvement without any increase in NVH. We have a Killer B prototype Dual Catch can setup coming as well as a bunch of other stuff in the design/development phase |
