Default Jdm ej205 plug n play in V7 STI

So my V7 bugeye STI with ej207 just developed rod knock. Planning on dropping in a JDM EJ205 for the time being till I get to do a proper stroked and sleeved ej207 build. Does anyone know if it will be plug n play?
Obviously I’ll have to open source tune the ej207 ecu to match the smaller ej205 turbo, lower redline and lower flowing heads but all the harnesses should just plug right in correct?
If there’s any issues I’ll run into that anyone can think of please let me know.
Both engines are drive by cable and with AVCS, here’s link to comparable engine I was going to drop in its place.https://globaljdmautoparts.com/produ...on-jdm-ej205-1

Default Jdm ej205 plug n play in V7 STI

Get an avcs throttle by cable jdm ej205, it will be the easiest to implement considering your car is already avcs wired. You can swap the fuel injectors and turbo from the ej207 on to the new ej205 and run staying off boost. Ver 7 STi motors don’t always have big port heads but the ej205 with avcs will probably have big port heads. Jdm STi ej207 ver is very similar to the jdm avcs ej205.
That motor you linked is the correct one, plug and play.

Thx man I appreciate it. I run a dom 1.5xtr with ID1000 injectors but I have a feeling the turbo and heads will have to be sent out to be rebuilt to clean the metal particles out before I can install on the 205.

My jdm ej205 has big port heads yet my ver 7 ej207 does not.
I’d install a new chra on that turbo before swapping it to a different motor, wouldn’t trust a “cleaning”.
Drop those id1000 injectors on the ej205 and have it tuned a bit milder than you had on the ej207. Should keep you amused while you sort out the ej207.

New CHRA? Just flush it. If you were really worried, really really worried, and ur oil pan, avcs gears and solenoids, oil pick up, oil hardlines are all new or really cleaned then mark the wheels and take it apart and clean it. It’s one step harder than rebuilding a t3/t4. If you do get a new CHRA I’ll buy the old unusable one.

I’d replace anything that had oil in the old motor, cleaning those parts is a gamble not worth the risk. Let the vultures have the old parts.
