Default 2015+ steering rack into 11-14 WRX

hey fam, so im looking to install the 2015 rack 34110va121 into my 13' WRX.

so far from what ive gathered its a direct swap on the widebody 11-14. tie rod ends and all... however, after doing some digging on iwsti > 51 page thread
even the STI guys had issues with VDC kicking in.

was there ever a fix for this? software? calibration? part swap?

is it a worthy upgrade even with VDC chiming in every now and then?

from my research, some people have had issues, others none at all (or wont say)

is it possible to adjust these VDC values in software?

I Put a 2016 STI rack into my 2012 wrx with no issues at all. hasn't thrown any related codes in the ~10k miles since I did it. bolts up exactly the same and I dont believe there is any issues with the pump not being able to pressure it.

well then, ill take it as a compliment to have been your first.

anyways, ive decided to go with a stock 2.8 ratio rack. im not tracking the car, and i see no reason to make unnecessary upgrades that may or may not have caveats... and creating a arduino device that may or may not work or fry my VDC like ive read in the Forester forums... is just not worth it.

if you buy brand new the sti rack is only maybe $100 more, and it makes the car so much more fun tbh. one of the best things i have done to my car.

whatever arduino thing the forester guys are doing is not needed for a stock rack and i dont think its needed for an sti rack either

just read through all of the things you linked, and i guess I do have vdc issues. only felt it after putting on 18x10s so i thought it was them ive been driving with traction control off for months thinking it was the big tires but i guess i was wrong.

still dont regret it, it feels like the car is swiveling in high speed corners but ive taken my car in the snow with no traction control issues at all. if im ever driving hard enough to have problems i just turn traction control off anyway.

so why did you put on the short ratio rack in the first place? do you autocross or was there something wrong with the original rack? or did you just see a tik tok from a 17 year old girl saying how cool it was to have a short ratio rack? like what was your motivation to do this mod?

the one in the car was leaking out of the sides, and the short ratio rack really is better. much more responsive and fun to drive. easy choice for me to replace it. the long ratio rack was always annoying to me, it just felt so light and soft. even my moms outback had stiffer steering
