No, the OTS (off the shelf) mapswill work only with Cobb and SPT intakes for some reason. If you really have to use the intake, it will be possible if you get a tune. Ask your local Subie tuner if he can/will tune with the intake. Otherwise loose it.

I'm still kinda fuzzy on data logging, tactrix cables, and enginuity.org. Can someone fill me in on this? I've searched and read this faq but I can't really find the info I'm looking for.

If they require a full turbo back exhaust and you only have a downpipe and a cat back exhaust, 100% of the blame is on the end user.
This confuses me a bit, I have an '06 WRX and right now I have a cat-back. I know that '06 WRXs have to have full length downpipes. Does the full length downpipe not meet up with the cat-backs?

If you are asking what I think you are asking, this should help.

that might confuse him more.

My cobb DP took the place of the downpipe and midpipe on my MY07 WRX.

BTW, I've been stage 2 cobb AP with the catted cobb DP with stock catback for a year now. I've been super pleased with the results. I've met the minimum requirements from Cobb. Adding the catback exaust will give me around 5-7 HP is what I was told. I myself prefer the stealth

^^ Hope not, it helped me within 10 seconds of looking at it back when I first got into Subaru. Took this picture, went outside and compared it to my car. Figured out what exhaust I wanted and got it.

Wow, that's a rad pic. But yea, on 06+ WRX's the downpipe and mid-pipe are just one pipe and not separate. But the pic did pretty much answer my question. A full TBE would be (on an 06 WRX at least) a full length down pipe (like the Cobb) + a catback exhaust.

Ok I have been reading all the posts I could find for days now and i checked with cobb's website.

07 STI waiting for this to arrive -
Crucial racings new TBE
Aps 65MM cold air
Crucial P&P&C manifolds

So Now that I have my parts i'm back and forth with the different options for tuning. I know that with the Hose and pill swap the AP v2 would be a option but i'm hearing that the hose swap doesn't cure the problems with boost. curious on your take or anyone that has the AP v2 AND a catless TBE.

This book is useful to get a basic idea but for me it is useless. This is based on the poor reviews for this book.

I know all the basics because i learned them in my Engine Performance and Diagnostics I would want a source of information that would explain tuning in a way that afterwords i would be able to start doing my own tuning and gaining the experience I need on that topic.

Any directions you can point me tword? I am looking for another book right now if I find one I will post it up.

Hi, is there any way i would be able to reflash or get a piggyback setup for a non-turbo car that i would like to turbo? Or would i have to get a completely new ECU?

Before I hock my e-manage blue in favor of a Tactrix, would there be any need for a e-manage on a 2009 WRX?

Hi, I bought an 04 WRX at the beginning of the summer, and decided its about time I start making modifications of my own to it, the person I purchased it from already has done: TBE, CAI, and BOV, after they did all this they had it professionally tunned. I want to work my way up to upgrading most of the other parts in the car, aka turbo, FMIC, injectors, fuel pump, etc. basically all parts required to upgrade to a bigger turbo and benefit from it. I have 2 questions:
1) Will I be able to with an accessport tune the car as I piece together this upgrade (since i don't plan on buying everything at once) or will it at some point need a professional tune?
2) At what point is a tune required? Simply is it required between each modification? Only after some? Or at the very end once everything is on?

Thanks for the help with this one guys, if I missed this discussion on another page just point me in that direction, i have been trying to surf around and find the answer without asking but I couldn't so here I am. Thanks again

Default 04 Open/closed loop problem

Question as I have searched and could not find the answer.

If you use a Cobb Access Port to reflash your ECU with their stock stage one maps they have on their web page...does this map fix the open/closed loop delay problem on the 04 WRX?

Or do you have to a custom tune or a custom map by Cobb made for this problem?

Appreciate it if someone can add to this very valuable FAQ about the various types of dynos used - inertia, load bearing, etc. - and not for the sakes of comparing one from the other. Technical info needed. Thanks!!
