Default Firewall flex question

Is it possible with manual brakes for the firewall to flex enough for a wire to slip behide the clutch master cylinder? I just found my starter control wire wedged and trying to figure out how it got there.

Do you mean manual trans?

Yes the firewall can flex a bit. That's why people get the master cyl brace to help firm things up a bit. As for the wire being wedged, that's anyone's guess. Most likely someone not paying attention after performing some work in that area.

What do you mean by manual trans? I haven’t brought the car anywhere though since doing the swap. I haven’t removed the master cylinder in 5 years. Doesn’t make any sense to me how it got there.

You are asking about manual brakes, which all cars use a brake pedal and are actuated manually, but discussing the clutch slave cylinder. So it seems to me you're asking asking if this is something that can happen with a car with a manual transmission.

If you don't have a master cyl brace the firewall can flex quite a bit. Have someone sit in the car and press the brake pedal firmly and you can watch the firewall flex. A master cyl brace helps quite a bit but there is still a small amount of flex regardless. Under normal driving situations you won't notice it. Spirited driving, or emergency situations it's noticeable.

Whether or not a wire can become wedged behind the clutch master cyl, I can't say. Mine doesn't have a wire close enough that it could happen. You can share a pic of how the wire is routed and get some input from that. Possible, sure. Anything is possible

I'm pretty sure he deleted his brake booster and now has manual brakes. I am considering doing the same.

The clutch master isn't that far from the brake master and it is likely that you have much more firewall flex than normal, depending on how your manual brakes are set up. You could set up a camera or have someone else press your brake pedal and see how much the firewall moves to know for sure.
