I think Bubba is a decent guy but I don't like his game play; too erratic most of the time. When he's dialed in (rarely) it is a sight though. |

tommaso - Apparently I am still on the Blacklick Woods GC email list. Just got an email saying they are staying open but only on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:30am to 4:00pm.
Walking only, no tee times, golf shop closed. Best thing.... No greens fees will be collected. |

I thought all of metro park courses closed completely last week? I mean technically this is still "closed" but I thought they were all totally shut down. I just looked at their Twitter feed and yep, you're right. I wonder if they're just keeping this running as an experiment, and they might do the same with the others? I can hope...will definitely tell my wife about this, though. 1 note on the 2011 Masters (I had to stop it for a while due to actual work, but I will finish it later ) This was when Rory super hooked his drive off of 10 and ended up between 2 cabins. I remembered that, but I had forgotten the rest of the hole. He had a great window and punched out perfectly, then super smothered a fairway wood approach long and left behind a tree/bush, then hit that tree/bush trying to get out, then actually got out, then 2 putting for a smooth 7. I couldn't imagine how that would haunt me, if I was leading the whole thing through 9 and then that happened. |

I <3 Blacklick. That's such a fun muni.
That par 5 4th. Someday I'll learn to lay up short of the water. There is just no room near the green to miss left/right on a 2nd shot. --kC |

Crap, another coworker from that lunch tested positive. No idea how she's doing. Now my minor occasional cough is a bit more worrisome.

Hopefully it stays nice and mild.
Man, Tiger should have won this (2011). I'm sure he would have if he even putted average all 4 days. Edit - finished 2011. Some quick thoughts 1.) There were about 6 people who could've won that until Charls bird on 17. 2.) Jason Day needed about 1-2 more holes and he woulda won. I forgot he lived in Texas before moving up to my neck of the woods. 3.) That course played too soft (specifically the greens). They tore that course to shreds. I prefer when the greens are hard and fast as heck. Cheers. Chose 2014 as my next. Probably watch half or so tonight. Last edited by tommaso05; 03-19-2020 at 10:28 PM. |

So I watched the first half of the 2010 Masters yesterday. It started off with Westwood and Mickelson tied. Then Westwood birdies the second to go up because Phil missed 3 ft birdie attempt. Crazy because he only missed it because in the middle of his putting stroke on the 2nd hole a pine tree fuzzy dropped out of the sky and landed right on his putting line. Ugh! Totally bounced the ball off line and the putt missed. So weird. The trees were't even close to the green so the announcers were even wondering if somehow a fan flicked it onto the green.
Gonna try to finish it up today. |

Think I might buy one of those cheap kidney shaped practice "greens" for my basement while I "work from home" for the next ???? weeks.

We're work from home until further notice. Website says the local course is open and tee times are booked out but I am wondering if this is just today and they'll be shutting down. I just want to practice on the putting green since it's free and poach some balls when I can on the range from the people who leave buckets to make their tee time. If not, I'll be ordering some kind of putting surface mat for the garage and chipping in the backyard. Glad I got the swing trainer.

Shot 90 today. Not much positive from the round. Drove it well the first few holes and then it went downhill. Several beers didn't help and the course isn't the easiest walk. Just happy to get out and hopefully playing tomorrow morning. It seems New Jerseys executive order allows for outdoor activities which golf is under.

Just got the email that the course is shut down. **** me. Moving it to my buddies place tomorrow with his bootleg trackman and drinking the beers we already had for the round.

Yep, all the courses saying "we're open" via email a few days ago are now sending out "we're closed" emails.

We’re still open in Phoenix. TPC was eerie today. They were spreading the groups out by 20-30 minutes. We didn’t see anyone within a hole and a half in front or behind. The Scottsdale airport is right there and normally there are private jets coming and going every couple of minutes. I only saw a handful of jets and the rest of the traffic were just small prop planes.
And I played like trash. 81. |

Decided to watch the 2003 Masters ... What an incredible first hour.
Phil hits driver out of the woods after a penalty drop and makes birdie with a 80 foot putt Tiger hits left handed out of the woods to save par ... then completely loses it with a double and a bogie to follow Maggert hits himself with his own ball trying to get out of a bunker Just insanity all around ... this is awesome |

One exec down this way is still open. I played 18 with a random double at 7:30 am since most of the times were booked. Shot bogey golf but definitely rusty. Nice getting out to walk and not worry about touching anything or being too close to anyone.

Ohio closed all golf courses last Friday. It was the right thing to do, but it does suck now that the weather is getting nice.

My club is still open and I played a few holes Friday night and 18 yesterday. It was packed. We went to tee times 15 minutes apart, 1 person per cart (unless you cohabitate with that person), upside down cups, no touching the flag, no rakes, gimmes under 5 feet and appropriate social distancing, but many, many people were not observing distances. And they had a drink cart going around? WTF? I doubt I am going to play on weekend mornings anymore. Too many people and too many of them doing stupid stuff.

The course I played all you had to do was book online and then swipe your card when you went into the clubhouse. I guess they aren't set up to take online payments but wish it was possible. Limit of 6 people on the putting green at a time and no flags there. They were still renting carts but it's an exec, so I think they should make people walk but whatever. They had cut a pool noodle down for each hole and put it around the base of the flag. If you ball went in the hole, it was just below ground level, so you didn't have to put your fingers in to fish the ball out. There were no rakes and they put bags on some of the ball washers but not all. I don't know if the clubhouse was serving beer since it was 7am. Funny it was my first round without ONE beer. It didn't help from what I could tell. Hehe.

Yep, weather here is finally dry. Just makes it suck more not being able to practice and play since it was raining for weeks since the time changed.
On one hand, I am like "it's fine, walk, bring your own bag, play out of it, don't touch anything, be liberal with gimmies, all good" and on the other hand people are like "don't leave your ****ing house you POS!!!!" |

Annnnnd just got an email that the course is walking only. Pretty sure it's one of the few courses open in the county, so I am guessing it's going to be closed soon.

Everyone in my neighborhood was out yesterday in their yard and walking. Went to a nursery (trees) near us and it was humping. Everyone just maintained distance.
The golf course was HUMPING. I was surprised they kept the carts, but a quick wipedown and it should be fine. They got my gym. They got my job. Even if they close the course, I will just walk across the street and play it. #theseparsarepandemic |
