'02 WRX Stage 2 Tunes?
I have a 2002 WRX that I picked up at a repo auction. After a few years, I finally have it running, however, I am in desperate need of a tune!
I have no doubt that the previous owner removed his tune before the car went to auction, and I want to get something on it before I start driving and logging for fine tuning. I have a Vag-Com cable, RomRaider, and ECU Flash. The car has the following mods. It came this way, I have not added anything other than a new air filter. Cobb intake Perrin catless downpipe Cat back with muffler, but resonator removed Stainless unequal length headers Perrin EBS (I don't know if I have it hooked up properly) FMIC (appears to be some type of generic one) TGV deletes Pink injectors I have done: JDM EJ205 swap (all components swapped from USDM to JDM engine) New O2 sensors New plugs New timing belt And so on... I have also added a boost gauge, wideband O2 and oil pressure. *I do not have the wideband hooked up for logging, but the parts are ordered. For the car, and why I am needing a tune. It starts and runs fine, however, it throws a system lean (P0170) code after a while. I have checked for vacuum leaks so many times I'm sick of it. Once I got the boost/vacuum gauge installed, I have been monitoring it, and it runs betwen 17 and 19 in. of vacuum and holds steady. The MAF has been cleaned, as has the MAP sensor and IAC. They also have new gaskets installed. The P0170 is the only code it throws, however, the idle is kind of rough once it warms up. My thoughts are that it has the stock tune, and the Cobb intake is making my AF ratios wonky. Is there someone out there with a Stage 2 file or advice?

Grab your stock map from the romraider forums and compare it to the map on your car. That should tell you if you have the stock tune. Make sure injector scalar and latency are correct, you can get them from the stock map of whatever car they came from. Then scale your MAF table, if needed. You can find guides here and on romraider.com, good luck and have fun

There’s also some good stage 2 basemaps you could grab from there as a starting point if your rom is stock after the previous comments checks.

here's the place to look: https://www.romraider.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=28
https://www.romraider.com/forum/view...p?f=28&t=18378 this might work for you. You'll have to scale your MAF since you have an intake on it. you might be able to find one like yours and then just adjust it a bit. https://www.romraider.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=31 give this a read first- helped me get started! https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=1626520 |

Alright, I have a dumbass question. I purchased a Vag-Com FTDI 232RL cable, which I thought would work with an '02. However, I have seen some sites saying that the cable won't work with an '02 is this true?
I can get it to log without issue, it will not read the ECU though. |

I know there had been issues for specific years only being able to log with VAG. So not surprised. |

I have a similar setup, but with a cobb, looking at making the cross over to open source, so may be shooting some questions over your way lol |

Talk to Alex @boost_reality on Insta. He's who I'm using, and he's amazing.
