Any pic's of the new brakes installed?? I personally went with Powerstop's drilled/slotted rotors + carbon fiber/ceramic pads for my gf's legacy because for $250 for all rotor's and pads...I couldn't pass them up!

Lower Control Arm Bushing removal!
In dire need of assistance in the removal of the lower control arm bushings on a 2011 Forester. Appears to be the same bushings as Impreza. Rented a press but cannot find proper size to use for pressing them and all the shops in the area are closed. Tried all the adapters the press came with as well as random sockets. Any help and assistance would be greatly appreciated. I've search everywhere and can't seem to find any detailed instructions on folks actually pressing out the bushings.

I had to cut mine out. Heat them up really good and saw zal it out. First side took like 45 mins but once I got the concept other side was about five mins. Use torch it will really help. Never tried to press them bc of weird angle they sit. |

The better route was to get a hole saw. Larger than the metal sleeve around the bolt, but smaller than the outside of the bushing. Even easier if you have a dowel the size of the bolt that the guide bit can bite into. Maybe there was some more cutting and burning. Sorry, it's been 5 years. |

I ordered the following last year from Tire Rack when my original brakes were finally used up on my 2011 OBS, which lasted quite a long time.
They work very well in conjunction with my performance tires. They dust more than OEM but not horribly so. I am happy with them. 2 Centric Plain 120 Series Rotors - Manf. Part #: 120.47012 (Front) plain vented rotor. 2 Centric Plain 120 Series Rotors - Manf. Part #: 120.47029 (Rear) plain solid rotor. 1 Hawk hp street 5.0 pads - Manf. Part #: HB432B.661 Front brake pads. 1 Hawk hp street 5.0 pads - Manf. Part #: HB557B.545 Rear brake pads. Get them from your preferred NASIOC Tire Rack Wholesaler along with a brake flush and you will be all set. |
