OEM turbo replacement and tune
So, my car fell victim to a frozen AOS line that caused the turbo seals to fail from too much pressure. I am replacing the turbo with the same factory one currently on the vehicle. It is tuned already for the mods on the car currently. Do I need to re-tune the car after replacing the turbo?
Mods for reference: Grimmspeed tmic, intake, ebcs, and charge pipe Egr and catback |

What AOS did you go with? Was it hard to install?

Just an update for the possible future googlers: Short answer on a new tune being needed - No, but possibly. This was according to both the shop and the tuner (Ron).
The drive home after picking it up was uneventful. No knocks, no weird AF corrections. The rear O2 sensor died on me and I expect the front to fail eventually as well due to the amount of oil that was dumped into the exhaust. I used the opportunity to finish my mods and installed a Jpipe and went ahead and retuned. All is well, hope I never have to deal with that again. The AOS was KillerB. However, I highly doubt this would have been avoidable unless there was no AOS installed at all. |
