Did you change your rear endlinks? How about tires? Get some good tires and endlinks. Best bang for buck mods, along with the RSB.

I do the exact opposite of canyon running.

I am a mountain runner.

I like my set up I have right now, but you can never be happy what you have, coz we all want better and the best. I have Nitto555 right now on my set but I dont like them as much as my old set. But it could be my camber is set as factory setting. I will change them soon or adj the camber when I get time. I do take the car to the mounitne too, but as winter weather goes, I will wait til the summer comes. Safty is always come 1st.

So just the end links do the job?

Thanks

Well, as thesmokingman asks, what is wrong with your current setup? The second question is what is your modding budget? Endlinks do make a big difference. I noticed it right away. The rear swaybar and endlinks were my first mod right after my tires/wheels. Camber settings will make a big difference too, but identifying what you want the car to do/not do will help with more specific suggestions.

First off loose those 555's and get some S03's in 17 inch size
225/45/17. Do you have strut tower bars? if not get front
and rear from STi or Cusco. Also, make sure you're using
aftermarket endlinks on your rear swaybar.

Final touch is to get an aftermarket steering wheel. Your
weakest link is you tires for now.

goodluck!

give us more info on the condition of the roads you will be driving. I live in the bay area and do alot of mountain driving on the weekends. My old setup was whiteline rear bar at 22mm w/ endlinks, cusco front and rear strut bars, and falken azenis tires. On smooth roads like highway 9 this setup wasnt very good, lots of body roll because of soft springs, calaveras road which is somewhat good condition my setup seemed just okay also. Mt. Hamilton which is extremely rough and bumpy my setup was perfect and i could drive extremely fast.

Now that i have hks hipermax 2 coilovers ive driven all these roads. Started on calaveras and its great, i can drive alot faster than before with the current dampening (19 from full soft in F, 20 from full soft in R and they are 30 way adjustable) I then went to highway 9 and was even more amazed, the suspension was even soft for this road and i could probably run alot stiffer on this road. I was on Mt. Hamilton yesterday and my setup sucked. I left it the same as the previous two roads and the person following me said i was constantly had only 3 wheels on the ground. Any bump i hit i would jump instead of going over it.

So yea the whole point of my post was to say that it depeneds on what kind of driving you will be doign and where you will be doing it. Since you already have coilovers and i assume they are dampening adustable unless they are the tein SS you should be fine. Next time i goto hamilton im sure im gonna set my suspesion alot softer.

My set up right now is with Tein flex, the damper setting are 14 front and rear for daily driving. When I go for a run, I set them as 5 in front and 7 in rear. Thanks for the EDFC system. Camber setting is 0 front and 1.3 in rear..I need to change the front camber to 1.3 or 1.5 just like how I had them before. There is nothing worng or any weak point with my set up right now, I think my next mod is to upgrade the endlinks forsure. As for the road I run on, its smooth but with some rocks fell from the top. The new tires are not gripping on the road, tires are 225/35/18. Tires are need to go!! I really dont like them and they cost more than my old set. Never again with the nitto. My rear sway is whiteline and Im very happy with them. Im not plan to upgrade the strutbars, since I dont go to autocorss.

Sometime I can feel I ride on 3 wheels on a turn, I just add more weight to the trunk, Impreza's rear is too light weight sometime, but watch out for the power drift when you enter the turn while you gasing out, power drift might be a problem when adding more weight to the rear.

money is not a problem. Since Im not in the hurry, plus I want to test it out each mod when I upgrade them.

You need an alignment. Then you should take your car to a track school day and learn the limits of your car. Then you can fully appreciate what your car can do and decide whether your car is lacking or needs any additions.

When you are canyon driving, you want a bit of understeer because its an inherently dangerous activity. Word to the wise.

Default Front strut bar

is optional IMHO, rear is more important. I have the 6-piece STI pink bits in back, so can't comment on how stiffer endlinks will perform. I would agree a performance alignment is needed, as is track time to learn how to drive. Not saying you can't, but everyone, repeat everyone, learns from practice. I'm nearly done with my suspension, only because I can't afford the Hipermax 2s. I need engine management right now. Other nice bits I've done are Cusco Ver II lower arm bar (replaced u-brace), Whiteline comfort ALK, SPT aluminum control arms, Whiteline steering rack bushings, Noltec front sway bar endlinks, Cusco 40mm rear strut/v-brace, Cusco fr strut brace, Cusco fr/rear sway bars (maybe Hotchkis soon), Tein FLEX, SSR Cs 16 X7.5 w/ Michelin Pilot Sports. Why didn't I go with S03s? Michelins are lighter and have a much stiffer sidewall. Why 16s? Light, light, light. Rotational weight is important for acceleration/deacceleration/handling (unsprung weight).

did the cusco ver2 bar add any understeer or what kind of effects did it have on the suspension? I am thinking of getting it a not having my U brace. Also why did you choose the comfort ALK over the sport? I am trying to decide what to do next to my suspension. Recently i switched from my cusco 22mm front sway bar back to stock and almost liked the way the car handlede with the bigger front but i think 22 was too big..... maybe ill get a 21mm.

Default I read

some negative threads about the "race" ALK. Not sure if that's the same as the "sport". I did the ALK and Cusco lower brace at the same time. I had the u-brace and Cusco brace for about two months or more. I took off the u-brace and noticed no difference, except for weight.

The ALK comes in 3 flavors...race....sport....comfort.

The race uses a very hard bushing...too hard for me(perfect for tracked cars)....I have the sport which is a bit softer(I love it) and the 'comfort' was made by Whiteline at the request of members of this board for a more 'comfortable' for daily use. It uses the softest bushing.
I would do the 'sport' if you have good roads where you are...unless there are a lot of expansion joints, like in concrete sectioned highways....which the comfort was made for

thanks guys for all the info and help. Here is another question...

Subaru has added a front under car brace to the MY01 wrx model, the oem brace does little for chassis and handling but fouls on the ALK, is it possible to upgrade the low brace or even run with out the brace with ALK to have a better set up??

Myself and oldmansan have removed the brace, run ALK's and the Cusco v2 lower arm bar.
Works good for me.
