i am officially screwed!!
i got a flat last night
a big nail in the middle of the thread.. so i thought it was repairable. so was told by all mechanics. then i took it to a tire center. they took it off the rim.. and bam!!!!! all the sidewalls are toast.. from the outside, it does not appear that i drove on the flat.. but the inside ..... Grrrrr..... so maybe i did drive on it.. who knows At least the BBs is still perfect.. just placed an order on tirerack.. set me back around 200 $. i am sorry if this is the wrong place.. i just need to vent.. i did get major love from the mechanics at the tire center.... Grrrrrr

It depends on how those miles were put on it. I believe your other tires have to have something around at least 70% treadlife left in them to be able to throw a brand new one on w/o messing your ish up.

I believe the measure for most subaru's is that the tires have to be within .4" of rolling diameter. So, run a tape measure around the thing and have them shave the new one if they have to.

your fine, unless you have totally destroyed and or beat on the tires for the first 850 miles, I doubt that.

Just an FYI - if the RE070 get too expensive, try the Falken Azenis. At the moment its the tire of choice in STS/STX autoX racing in SCCA. And 225/45/17 runs around $100 each!

The Azenis would be the better choice strictly for Solo II use. |
