Guys, when the 227hp WRX got here, most of them have been crashed. Now we're talking about a 300hp car, and if they get here around July, by the month of August, we'll be able to buy a few totalled ones. Let's not kid ourselves, most of us aren't able to really push a car like that to it's limits. I'd love to kid myself, and tell me that Solberg has nothin' on me, but the fact of the matter is, we're not "that" good.

More like 10psi to get 300hp. If that.
This is the thing. I want to know how much CR this thing runs. I bet its more than 8:1 which means good off the line torque, low rpm torque, but less tweakness for turning up the boost unless you run racing gas. I bet at least 8.5:1. I want to know the weight, final drive ratio and CR. If the CR is like the WRX, you should be able to boost it up to approximately 400 at the crank HP easily. If the CR is higher.... All things point to a higher CR (lower torque, acceptable milage, etc). I don't think this is a basis for a race car (doesn't the 2.5l put it out of the correct class (where the 2.2 didnt?))... I want answers. I think I want one, but I want to slighly up the boost....

I am guessing 9.0:1 CR and lower boost. Somewhere around the 10psi mark.

This is my guess. If I'm wrong, then I am. That's the beauty of bench racing.

Reality check here guys....

It should have a turbo compressor pretty similar to the VF30/34, or will probably just use one of those, most likely the VF30 for cost cutting reasons. Why would they use a bigger turbo?

So you're basicly in the same league with the TXS stage 4, once you do the exhaust mods and ecu. Remember, the power is determined by the turbo size, the 2.5L doesn't really matter at this level.

However, this 2.5 will have higher limits on pump gas, and much higher max power limits compared to the the current wrx.

I'm keeping my H&R's, Cusco braces (all of them minus the front one), HKS Carbon-Ti, maybee the DP, and a drop in K&N should do the trick allong with a good Omori EGT.

I thought of finishing my car but I would still need the brakes, seats, drivetrain, and other stuff that made me decide that is better to start with the STi and carry over the stuff that counts!

the fact that peak torque isnt reached untill 4K rpms points to a fairly large turbo at medium boost (variable wastegates not withstanding), I'd say 11-13 psi max
