10k you will not recover unless you are lucky enough to find someone who's willing to pay for your parts. Modding your car will also erode it's base value.

Only reason to go the upgrade the WRX path is if you enjoy working on the car.

Also, I imagine spending 1k on an STI will be a bigger gain than spending 11k on a WRX.

I think I'll wait a few months after the STi comes out and some of you have bought it. I am sure I'll see threads on here that reads "FS: 2004 STi must go, Insurance premium too high to keep it"

Then I'll be glad to take it from you for $3-4k less.

Quick, go get them.

My dealer must be the most clueless subaru dealer in the world. I went to get my oil changed (won free service coupons) and talked to the sales guy. I told him the STi was released and he just says "oh really, I'd like to drive that"). He had no clue on it, much less price!

I see what your saying and all but vishnu has a stage 2 that gives 340-350 hp for only 4400. And lets say you cant find a wrx for much less just very slightly used and you get a new one for 23k. you still got and 4k to do suspension mods and extior if you wanted.

I do realize that the engine size of the sti will make it easier to mod but you could still get a whole lot out the 2.0L wrx engine.

The looks is the main thing the sti has that would be hard to fix but i dont care much for looks anyway. You should look at me.

Yeah i never thought of the re-sale value on the wrx if you modded but then you could buy one someone has modded now and get it for much less and have the performance.
