Default STI / LA Auto Show, FYI

Just to inform you, the STI will NOT be at the LA Auto Show. The official intro will be in Detroit over the same period as the LA Show dates.

They are not going to bring one halfway through or near the end even?

to add insult to injury...i also heard that the RS will also not be at the LA auto show this year!

subaru is really losing it. just 3 years ago, subaru featured the RS, and now they don't even bring one to the show. they'll probably have their baja there if it hasn't been discontinued yet, and that super heavy outback station wagon thing. but no RS or TS. very disappointing.

They won't be bringing one to LA at all. There will be an invite only display of the car in LA in January seperate from the actual auto show.
There will be an STi on display at the Utah Auto Show however.

p.s. I get that right Phil?

So they are snubbing what is likely the location withest the highest WRX per capita in the country. Sounds like subaru to me.

There is no intention to snub anyone. It is obvious the So Calif market is very important to Subaru. The LA Show management would not permit a Wednsday show roll in of the STI. We had quite a bit planned. It is a disappointment to all. It is a issue of Detroit Show vs LA Show. Concidering the STI availability is a few months away, I assure you there will be plenty of pics and a ton info on the board available to all after 1/11/03. That is 3 days later than the original plan and the Detroit intro. Our brothers in Salt Lake will get the viewing the following week because that is the next show on the western auto show circuit, no other reason.
I posted this with the intent of information for anyone making the trek to LA to see the STI. Thanks

Default NO STI at LA auto show

It seems that Phil has done his best, as always, to keep us informed.

Too bad that Detroit seems to pull the weight when it comes to vehicle launches. You would think that LA being the car "driving" capital of the world would rank higher than Detriot, the suppossed "car capital", I mean, look they gave us the Aztec... There is plenty of politics behind this whole LA/Detroit thing, and we really can't fight it. Too bad.

I'm surprised that the LA Car Show doesn't get a clue, and just stop scheduling their car show to overlap the Detroit Car Show!

Sorry if it looked like I came down on you Phil. Sounds like the LA Auto Show organizers are to blame.

I think the problem is Detriot has the better name. (North American International Auto Show)
