Default whats the difference between the 2.5Rs engine and STI engine?

i know, this question probably sounds retarded coming from a subaru newbie. but other than 140 horsepower, what is the difference? is it even the same block?

Read the specs. There is pretty much nothing the same except dimensions.

First of all the 2.5RS has 165 HP stock. I mean c'mon we need all we can get from our "bottom of the food chain" imprezas now.

The 2.5T has a semi-closed deck, forged internals, calcium filled valves, new heads...really an all new motor that happens to have the same displacement as the current 2.5NA motor.

I believe it's sodium filled valves... at least that's what they've used in the past... altho calcium would make our bones nice and strong!

I think what we really need to know is it a EJ or EZ series engine. IE whats the bore and stroke? If it has the same bore and stroke, as the regular ej25 it opens up alot of possibilities for us 2.5RS folk. Heck it probably means we'll be able to use almost all upgrade parts for the new STi.
