Thank you for diligently working to keep all of the BS out of here. I still do not understand the need for this forum to still exist. While having multiple FFI forums makes it nice and easy to find what they want.I commend you for your work.

Angry What the hizzy?!

So Ben makes a post supporting you guys and he's given a dancing banana.

I make my own post prior supporting the move, and I gave a thumbs up too, and 'WagonMonster' comes along and stings me with an 8pt. penalty.

I haven't had a cop asses me a 'point' for anything in over a decade!

What gives?
That ain't cool

I know...

Further, I support you guys and stated as much publicly just a week ago in the wildly popular 'Lets hate on mods for taking away our candy' thread.

Anyway, I still have 17 points to go before I hit the 25 pt. threshold. Who knows what'll happen then. Maybe some big burly German female powerlifters & 'strong woman' competitors will come to my house give me a noogie and slap me silly.

Lets see, what else can I say to get under WagonMonster's thin skin....

- Janq

P.S.
Thanks for the banana.
I love bananas!

Dang.
That'll learn me to read the fine print.

Thanks McDade, I was honestly baffled by that one.

I gave you the warning points because I had just asked everyone to stop posting jibberish about this forum going away.

From the tone of your thread it looked as if you were trying to cause more trouble.

No worries WagonMonster.

Some tones break glass while others break the fragile nerves of Mods.
It's cool. I'll lick my wounds and come back in a day or two.

Hey I'm back, yay!

McDade - I'm sorry you mistook my efforts the wrong way. I doubt you have time to wade through 6 months of posts to find the keepers, I'm just trying to help. I was clearly bumping threads of (my) interest, that I would like keep out of the archives.

I don't apreiciate the rough treatment, or the threats. It would unfortunate if I was actually banned, I would have to reconsider how much I contribute here.

heh not that im kissing ass but we dont own the fourms.
would you want someone telling you how to run your site?

But I do have a suggestion. You know the message icons you can select?
Why not add ones that say “STi, WRX, RS, Forrester etc” That way people
who only want to look at “STi” related posts can simply look at the icon.
And bypass ones they don’t want? I know that’s useless for the “search”
Feature but hey, it might shut some people up =)

Anyways, I love the sight. Thanks for providing it!
I don’t own a Subaru yet but I read this site religiously.

or for an even quicker solution, people can automatically distinguish their posts in their subject lines with prefixes along the lines of:

**STi**
**WRX**
**RS**
**FRSTR**

and so on...nevertheless, GREAT idea, jeffreybt..I fully agree.

I got it all covered bud. NASIOC, IMPREZAWRXSTI.COM, I-CLUB, CLUBWRX...I'm all on those. True the stuff on imprezawrxsti.com is strictly "STi" things which is always nice, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's the ultimate and best source for STi info. Cross posting happens all the time with references to other forums, and, for the most part, it works out pretty nicely. Frankly, it's not THAT DIFFICULT to label a subject line to a thread either. Yes, I do agree that STi-specific forums are nice and you don't have to ruffle through all the extra stuff, but what's done is done and we here at NASIOC just have to deal with it. I've considered abandoning this forum altogether, but, somehow I still feel like I would miss out on a lot of STi-specific developments as well as other models in the line up and, honestly, not all the people I enjoy seeing here are on the other forums as well.

I don't really understand what point you're trying to get across when saying how Porsche 911 owners wouldn't want to ruffle through VW bulletins for topics relevant to them. Well, of course the Porsche guys wouldn't..they're Porsche! Where VW correlates there puzzles me. I guess that would be like trying to make an analogy with EVO 8 guys ruffling through STi forums to find Mitsu-specific topics...?? It wouldn't really make sense for a Porsche guy to be looking for Porsche topics in a VW forum. What would be more of a parallel to your analogy would be a Porsche 911 Turbo guy trying to ruffle through topics within a Boxster/Carrera/Turbo/GT2 forum. It's not a conflict of brands, it's more of a conflict of car models WITHIN the car brand's lineup that you're talking about. Being an STi owner myself(well, in a few more weeks until E.T.D.), I still enjoy browsing through other forums to see what's new and what's hot. Maybe I'm not as "hardcore" as all the other STi owners.

That's a good idea, but at this point, I'm pretty sure all the people here know about the other forums due to the abundance of cross posting and probably don't want to leave NASIOC, post at NASIOC the most, or just haven't gotten around to being members at the other forums. But hey, anything is possible!

Will you just quit your whining and realize that an impreza interior question is an impreza interior question. Suspension tunning is suspension tuning no matter what you drive. And that if you have a question about tunning an engine all people who have experiance with tunning will be able to help you but you are automatically shuting there experiance out from helping you just because they dont drive the same model impreza as you.

There are very few questions asked by sti owners that can only be answered by other sti owners, in fact alot of the questions can be answered alot better by some non sti owners who will never see your question in you sti specific forum.

You think that getting rid of the sti forum will make you wade through useless post? Have you looked at the sti forum? It is a cluttered mess with repeated questions about everything (suspension, hows the car, engine mods, the weekly bov question, my trunk doesnt pop, etc...) all thrown together in one pile. If they were posted in the appropriate forums they would be quite easy to find and get answered.

There is a sti and forrester xt specific engine and drivetrain forum now for all non engine and drivetrain specific questions the old forums will suit all questions just fine and everything will be easier to find then it was in the sti forum.

NASIOC is supposed to be a informational and social community for subaru owners and car entusiast to interact, for some reason you seem to rather have everyone segregated by the badging on the back of their trunks.

end rant

P.S. Dont you think its a bit odd that the only people who seem to have a problem with the closing of this forum are new to subaru owners?

O.K. - I'm not trying to get banned, and have always been very vocal about my gratitude for the wealth of information here. In the event that I get banned.....hey Janq - would you mind adding your voice to the choir over at www.imprezawrxsti.com/postnuke? I've ALWAYS enjoyed your posts and would hate to miss out on them in the future! Having said that I will continue to surf NASIOC, regardless of the set-up of the site......I can navigate like a pro. And yeah, the cross-posting from ANYWHERE, be it I-CLub, or ScoobyMods, or ClubWRX, sometimes really does bring new, useful info. to the table.....and that's what we're all here for, right? Stu
