Default (bi-) Xenon headlights / fogs? Plus other questions!

Heyloo

ive got the new C&D and also R&T - it looks as if the new EVO has the bixenon headlamp units. the Evo looks/sounds like a pretty nice ride. but my heart is with the Subie

anyone know if the STi is going to have Xenons as an option?

plus, from the looks of the pictures - the headlamp housing for the US STi has built in orange reflectors.. eww, anyone know if these are removable (old school style break outs or easy removes?)

anyway yea, sorryif this is a repeat thread. i did a search but could not find info!

peace

Both EVO and STi will come with HIDs... but EVO's will have
projectors while STi will not...

We'll get the HID's (not bi-xenons), but I think we'll need to pop for JDM or Euro-spec headlight replacements to eliminate the ugly orange reflectors. Maybe we'll be able to unload the USDM units on EBAY ("factory STi headlights...").

i'm sorry, i don't get it.

what's wrong with orange?

a color that unambiguously communicates on the road.

how is that bad?

JDMs don't use orange-at least not Subaru. I admit it looks a lot better without the orange.

It seems orange draws attention where attention shouldn't be drawn, IMHO.

do the euro/jap spec headlights come in HID from the factory? if so that would be a worthy swap

JDM lights are HID, but the reflectors (beam pattern) are RHD.

who said it's bad. its a matter of taste. and i prefer to have a completely clear headlamp unit. thats how i want MY STi.

headlamps are generally clear in europe and in japan. no orange reflectors.

I've been living in Knoxville, TN for 3 years... I've had about enough orange to last 5 life times. I'll do just about anything to do away with that color any time I can.
