Default Light mounting solution

I have been looking for this.....I have some lights that I need mount in this configuration, but I have not been successful in finding what I need.

This looks like the rally innovations skid guard...Which is not offered for this car, but is available for earlier imprezas (https://www.rallyinnovations.com/collections/skid-guard)

Can you tell me a little bit about how you made this work?

It's not the skid bar but the "Ultimate Light Bar" which is a combination of both the skid bar and upper mount. It is one unit not an add on. (hopefully that makes sense)

https://www.rallyinnovations.com/col...mate-light-bar

I've been impressed with it. I had a different light bar before that was made by Rally Innovations, replaced it when we decided to freshen up the car. Its solidly mounted and I have let people yank and hang on it at meets.

Hope that helps

I am familiar with the Ultimate light bar.

The problem with that unit, is that it has an upper section that I do not want. If you look at the picture I quoted (from DesertWRX11), it is missing the upper section that is present on all of the Ultimate light bar units. If you look at the link that you provided, each and every one of them has the upper section that DesertWRX11's car does not have. This is why I asked the question.

I even contacted Rally innovations and asked specifically about getting what DesertWRX11 has, and was told that "there is no support for it."
So the questions remain.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make that work, or how DesertWRX11 did theirs, I would love to know.

Thanks everyone.

ah. yes. well I solved it by using the Ultimate bar, because it had the extra support.

Looking at the DesertWRX11 car it is probably not the Rally Innovations bar. I do remember someone making a similar bar back in the day. Its been awhile, I've been out of the car customizing scene for a very long time.

I've sent a message to RI regarding this and will let you know what they say.

I spoke to RI, they don't have one to fit the GR because of the overhang of the front lip. The Ultimate goes a far enough out that it can clear the lower lip.

The other person must either not have the RI Skid Guard or is using the Skid Guard with extensions to the tabs under the car.

I wouldn't recommend using the extension without some sort of way to reinforce it. You may end up with some unwanted vibrations.

Hope that helps

Ok. I was hoping that DesertWRX11 would respond and tell us how he did his setup.

I really want to do something like this, but I do need to have it supported as I want to put some lights on it (Hella FF1000 Xenons).

If anyone else has any idea on how to make something like that work, please let us know.

Thanks.

I made a ultimate light bar that was for a 08 impreze work on a bugeye a few years back. I got it on Craigslist for 50 bucks so I couldn't pass it up. I put the car up in the air and mocked the light bar up so I could make some brackets. A couple steel brackets on the subframe made it work perfectly. Long story short, you may want to find a used on for cheap and just make some brackets for it. If there's a will, there's a way. Lol

Not that I’ve seen. But I don’t run the car hard.

It's about time I post up my driving light setup. Had too many near misses with the local night life that I thought it was probably a good idea to get some decent lighting. Both the Baja OnX and Squadron-R Pro are wired into the high beams. I wanted it to be a clean flush setup and a mounting system that required no cutting or drilling. Just a straight up plug'n'play.

Had a little panel routed from Carbon Fibre to house the Schurter switches in the coin slot.

Looks good. Is the forester logo from JDM part or DIY?

I am hoping that DesertWRX11 can tell me a little bit about how this was done.

Default Stedi Fog Light custom mount

Instead of waiting for it, I figured may as well just do it myself. There are no adjustable aftermarket LED fog lights for the SH Forester which retain the factory bezel. Using the Stedi fog light I drew up from scratch a mount which utilises the original mounting holes and drops straight in like a glove.
It’s taken over two weeks and 10 revisions later it’s finally finished. Over 32 hours of test prints to ensure perfect fitment. The company who will be producing them just sent a confirmation that they have started the first set (a few others also wanted a pair).
