Excess metal pieces in rear diff when changing gear oil
Does anyone else think this is excessive metal debris from a rear diff on a 2017 wrx? With 38,000 miles, conservatively driven from 11,000 miles till now. I don't know the history before that.
I used Subaru HPGO, 75/90 and it feels great now, but then again it felt fine before the fluid change too. https://img.nasioc.com/image/mxWys https://img.nasioc.com/image/mxdj1 https://img.nasioc.com/image/mx4sb

First couple pics I was waffling back and forth if it was bad or not, but the third pic?
That is no bueno, and IS excessive, no doubt. |

I would say first 2 look about like what mine did and had a few of the pieces like pic 3 but I wouldn’t worry about it unless its making noise. 2017 WRX here and far from babied when I changed diff fluid at 30k
