Angry My parking lights won't go off

It sucks having to get out of the car open the hood and remove the fuse so that the battery doesn't go dead. Has anyone else had a similiar problem. I magine its just the switch inside the stalk but it will probably take the dealer a week to fix

You did make sure to turn off the parking light switch on top of the steering column?

I haven't. When I got my car, I flipped every single switch and looked through everything.

Default I killed too many brain cells last night...

The only 2 left were preoccupied with just moving me around this morning

If I had had 3 left I probably would have done a search. With 4 I could have figured it out on my own.

See, the problem is that you don't seem to know The Universal Rule of Nosiness:
Quote:
When curiosity grabs hold and you feel the urge to turn the knobs, press the switches, swing every control stalk... if you can't figure out what it does, put it back! Turn the knob back, toggle the switch back, unswing the control stalk.

Hey, it happens. At least, now you know.

Honestly, why wouldn't you look in the owner's manual if you can't figure out how to turn the lights off? No, I never did it.

I think that it should be part of your initiation into i-club. After you hit submit for your first post a window should pop up asking you if you know what the switch on the top of your steering column does. If you get it wrong then another window should pop up telling you to go out and try it or else you will not be able to post. It would have saved me mild embarassment at my first meet And no, I never RTFM, I'm a computer geek, it's against all my beliefs.

And I thought that it was just me.
Took me half an hour to work out how those lights came on in first place.

Ditto.

Another funny thing that happened to me was with my wiper washers. Use to own a Civic and to turn the front wipers on you twist the lever. Well twisting the lever on the OBS turns on the rear wiper, if you twist and hold washer fluid squirts out.
So here I am driving down the road squirting washer fluid on my rear window and my front wipers on trying frantically to turn them both off. Lucky I didn't get into an accident.

I had a 87 Cutlass Ciera for a beater and a 1991 Toyota 4Runner. You know how many differences there are on the stalk controls on the 2? I flicked brites trying to turn wipers on and all kinds of crazy stuff. Turning wipers on instead of headlights I think was another too.

I first thought that switch on top was for the hazard lights, like it is in most cars. I thought they were busted. Then I saw the real hazard light button, and figured it out from there....
