Just did my transmission fluid change for my 2012 wrx. Im checking the dip stick after putting only 3 quarts in and its saying its full to the "F" mark. Wtf? I thought it was 3.7 quarts?

Ive got it flat on level ground. I have that last 4th quart to put in it but its already reading full. Like perfectly full...

Is this 5MT T70 usually pretty hard to remove? I tried a huge 3/4" drive ratchet... impact gun.... nothing.

It can be. I've broken a bit on it before. Spray with a penetrating spray (pb blaster, liquid wrench, kroil, etc.) before hand and use a big breaker bar.

Thanks - I'll try a few more days of PB, etc. I was going for instant gratification ha ha.

I wonder if this is all original 193k mile old fluid.

The only caveat is that these are not impact wrench bits, so you'll be limited to a breaker bar/cheater to get things loosened.

HTH.

Thank you for this. It’ll come in handy for some of my builds coming up

The set in the OP would have been neat but it's NLA.
