This swap is already in my car. That alt is internally regulated, and the pulley matches just fine.

Thanks for your comments, I was only looking at the physical shape of the alternator not realizing the internal systems could be a problem.
Glad to have a member confirm fit and function. Ironically, I discovered yesterday both my battery terminals were not exactly fully tightened. After tightening the terminals my car is working 100% again. I will install the 110 amp alternator anyway since I already ordered it. |

I suggest you leave the original one in since it is okay and install the new one if it is really needed at some point in the future.

What alternators fit 2002 WRX

I have an aftermarket head unit and subwoofer, also aftermarket xenon projector headlight retrofit. I知 thinking the 110amp alternator is a good thing to have. Although it is working just fine now, I知 thinking the amperage bump would be beneficial. |

You could also install a 1n4004 diode in line with the power line running to the alternator. Half a volt jump in charging regulation and my car loves it.

I don稚 know electrical, it痴 my kryptonite. I知 not sure the diode would be necessary with the 110amp alternator. Thanks for the tip, appreciate all the input as this is an old thread I revived with my inquiry and it is getting fresh input thanks to all you contributing.

If your alternator is working correctly and the wiring is in good shape for the charging system then you don't need to add anything to the wiring. A battery can only hold a certain amount of charge. Making the charge voltage go higher is not necessarily a good thing in my book.

If you're looking for higher output with minimal modification the PowerBastards 220 amp alternator is also an option.
