I'm in eastern Mass. No stations appeared to have more than a few cars. The one price I checked was $2.89 which is a little high, but not out of line.

How's things elsewhere? CNN shows lines and a station with $6.99 a gallon gas and stations out of gas. I told my son about the lines and such from the Arab embargo in the 70's, where they put in minimums of $5 because clowns (going on now) want to top off their tank. Put in 39 cents, click because full and drive away.

A South Carolina woman caught fire during a police chase Thursday after multiple containers of gasoline exploded in the back of her car, officials said.
The woman, identified as 28-year-old Jessica Dale Patterson, was taken to a hospital, the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. Her condition has not been released.
“Before leaving the scene, Ms. Patterson told deputies that she was transporting several containers of fuel that she was hoarding in the trunk,” officials said. “These containers of fuel were the catalyst of the explosions.”

Patterson was driving a 2007 Pontiac G6 near the town of Pickens when deputies began following her after determining the vehicle’s license plate had been reported stolen, officials said. Pickens is about 20 miles east of Greenville, in the upstate of South Carolina.
Officials say the Patterson “accelerated the vehicle in an attempt to elude law enforcement,” and a brief chase ended when she lost control of the car, ran off the road and flipped.

“The vehicle immediately caught fire and multiple explosions were heard inside,” according to the sheriff’s office.
“As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver ... exited the vehicle and was observed to be on fire. The deputy pushed Ms. Patterson to the ground in order to put out the flames.”
The S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, officials said. Deputies did not say if Patterson is facing charges.

All the morons here in south fl. started hoarding gas not realizing most of our supply comes in through port Everglades by barge. I was able to fill up Wednesday morning because I had an 1/8th of a tank left, but shortly after most stations were out. The sad part is people kept hoarding gas even after the mayor and director of port Everglades went all over TV stating there was no need to do so as our supply is fine, but of course it takes a while to get the deliveries back on track after all of this sudden demand.

Like that makes up for the actual stupid, the greed, the selfishness and the willful ignorance. They sure showed us.

Was in florida for work all week. There were lines out to the street in the afternoon, but I had no problem filling up in the morning on the way to the site yesterday.

It was my first time leaving the house* in over a year, literally left for this trip the day my “two weeks post-vaccine” waiting period would accommodate. (*Not exactly “first time leaving the house” but it’s the first work trip / anything more than a local errand or a point-A-to-point-A sightseeing trip to north Georgia.) I was so glad to be among people, I didn’t even mind seeing the lines in person.

On tv I would be thinking “you idiots” and I might have thought that if I was waiting in line among them (so, “we are all idiots” maybe? I forgot how societies work I think) but driving past them and seeing people in person I was thinking “hi everybody! I hope you all have a great day!”

Well, at the risk of being thought to be a hoarder, I did my normal gas can fill at Shell using my stop and shop discount from buying gift cards. $26.18 for 20 gallons of 87. There are 10 pumps and a total of 4 cars there.
