Immediately put the DMC to work hauling a box full of 2WD Lamborghini parts on the passenger floor.

Is that an MR2 steering wheel?

It’s not a project yet and seems unlikely to become one but you all will understand my plight. On my car bucket list is a true barn find and a 61-63 continental. Well a house in the corner just got listed and driving by what do I see poking out of the shed. The grille of a 61 Lincoln. Stop ask if it’s for sale and they say it’s their brothers and he should sell it but does not want to since it’s been sitting for 20+ years. I left my information, didn’t get a chance to look at it but if they change their mind and it’s solid I’ll have to negotiate with the wife. I want a bagged continental for a cruiser so bad.

Baller no. If I can get it reasonable I will. No ragerts. Who needs a retirement account anyhow.

I did a thing today.

It was a two for one deal:

VW Ghia

ZR2 Blazer

Two great automotive designs. I wanted a ZR2 blazer bad when they were new.

So has anyone else noticed the ridiculous used car market lately? So sick of seeing 500 dollar cars listed for 2k or more. I mean thankfully I already have a project car and that's admittedly helping me focus on it, but it'd be nice to buy an old pickup if only they weren't consistently overpriced by 2k.

Yep. Been like that for about 12 months now. Pickups and SUVs seem to be the worst.

$500 cars haven't existed here for 10+ years. Even Pick n Pull cars are $1500+ now.

You know what really helps a car actually go up hills? The throttle being able to open all the way. When I reassemble my bug I just attached the throttle cable to keep it out of the way, it was tight. Last time I took the car out it was really slow up hill, now it is a 40hp car, but still. Then it dawned on me maybe the throttle is not opening all the way. I went and pinned down the pedal and sure enough it was maybe opening to 80% adjusted it and now it is lively 40hp. Still need to try and drive up a hill. But I am optimistic.

Nice numbers.

When does your 1-2 shift occur?

FYI Matt Farah just spent a solid 5-10 minutes talking about your DMC on the Smoking Tire podcast. Sounds like he wants to drive it when its ready

I hate how they remove their podcast from youtube and re-upload it later... But it is what it is. Let me know if you don't find it when its uploaded, I'll find the right timecode (should be pretty noticeable on the timeline because they looked at photos/videos).
