Harris and Atlas seem to be the big go to's with a huge variety of options and a really solid history. I'd really like to have one very nice one to use on a few different rifles, but get a bit cross eyed with all the options, kinda like the scopes.

What about GG&G, even saw Magpul has some new stuff.
Both Harris and Atlas are good. Different models have different options so just make sure you get what you need/want. I have an Atlas and love it.

If you're going Atlas start with the CAL.

I have a Harris that was a freebee. For free it's nice. Albeit, at the moment it's being used to prop up a heat lamp for a hedgehog.

I have a Harris on my EBR and it's fine but if I needed a new one I'd go Atlas all the way.

I have a few Harris and they are top notch. Would place the magpul bipod at about the same quality wise. Both definitely better than the $30 Amazon Caldwell specials. I haven't used Atlas yet..

Switched to Atlas Bt46 from a Harris 6-9. Both are proven designs. The Atlas takes more time to stow/deploy and was 3x the cost of the Harris. I like the look of the Atlas on a modern rifle and the front or back adjustment. That's about it for me. I'll keep the Harris forever.

Thinking about getting an AR style 22LR for cheap fun at the range.

Both Colt and S&W make M4 versions in 22LR that run $350 or so.

Alternatively, was also looking at a GSG-5 in 22LR. It looks like it would be loads of run on a training course, but don't have any here. And I generally enjoy longer distance targets anyway. So probably not what I want to spend my money on there.

Any other AR style 22LR I should check out in that price range strictly for weekend range/target use?

the s&w would be my pick. its a proven gun and the mags are better than the usual conversion mags most .22's use.

Any concerns over the polymer components in the S&W versus the aluminum ones in the Colt?

I have had mine for years with no issues. It gets shot a lot by me and the kids so it has not had an easy life.

I bought a used Umarex/Walther .22 A5 MP5 replica and it's really nice. Fits actual HK parts so I opted for the solid stock/cheek riser and scope mount. It's a great shooter...

What's the barrel length on that?

And it probably looks a lot less ridiculous loading 22LR rounds into an MP5-sized mag than it does loading 22LR into a ridiculously oversized (for 22LR) M4 mag.

Spec says 16.1".

I dunno, they are all a bit oversized, no? With a Ruger takedown with 25 round mags...

I like my G43X.

I just wish I had an iwb holster that fit my Recover rail and Olight Baldr Mini.

Can anyone afford to be a 5.7 fan right now?

Right... a friend just bought a 5.7 cal handgun made by someone now FN (I can't remember the mfg). It seemed like the biggest waste.
