Looks like the Steam in-home streaming is now an open beta, tried it out today with a 100Mb wired connection, couldn't really notice any lag with a few different games, pretty cool.

I think the 290X is as capable as the 780 TI, at least it is at 4k.

Yeah, they seem pretty equal at 4k as well.

Need a new mouse. Been using a Logitech G700 for quite a while now but am starting to have issues with it. If I click and hold it randomly releases the click and will then click multiple times in rapid succession.
I like having four configurable buttons on the left (thumb) side and a couple extra on top. Maybe ~$100 max budget; any recommendations? |

What's the issue? Sounds like you just got a sweet new burst fire macro.

Not sure where to really post this, but ill post it here since it's PC related.
I'm wanting to learn about software and PC building and troubleshooting so that I can add it to my skill set for future career options and general knowledge. I can do the very simple things in MS Office, but creating intermediate to advanced spread sheets, power point, or ms docs are foreign to me. I'm also looking to build a desktop pc in the near future and would rather build it myself than pay someone. Is there a program or online course / courses that one would recommend? |

Newegg has a short series on building a PC.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPIXAtNGGCw A class dedicated to preparing for the A+ certification would be appropriate, but the value of certs is really questionable: http://certification.comptia.org/get...cations/a.aspx There are probably a billion free or cheap MS Office Suite training classes out there. You can Google. |

I want a software training program / cert program that would closely mimic a college course. Something that is interactive, well designed, etc. If it provides a well recognized certification, that would be even better. Thanks again guys, its much appreciated. |

I have an ASUS 7870ghz that I'm trying to get rid of since it's bottlenecked by my current CPU and I will not be having any AMD products in the new build.
http://www.frys.com/product/7551676 I know it's a long shot, I'm a n00b, haven't been around lately, etc., but if anyone is interested let me know and we can work out how to make you comfortable with the sale. Looking for $150 + shipping but I can negotiate based on what the cards are gong for on eBay and the fees that would be applied if I sold it there. |

So I'm having a major issue with my desktop
When I boot it up it'll boot all the way into windows then freeze and become completely unresponsive to any keyboard inputs or mouse movement. If I try to boot into the BIOS the keyboard will become equally unresponsive as well after a few inputs. I thought it was a heat issue so I took the CPU out cleaned the heat sink thoroughly, cleaned the CPU fans, case fans and dusted everything out. I also bought Antec Formula 7 and cleaned the old stuff off and reapplied, temps went down 20 degrees C (30-32) but the condition persists. How should I go about diagnosing the issue? |

Do you have PS/2 input on the mobo? I'd try that with a PS/2 keyboard to see if it's the USB.

So who here has water cooled their PC with a custom loop? Right now I only have a H100i the keeps my i5 2550k @ 4.6 chilly, but last night I got a good deal on a R9 290x and I buying a EK block for it. My main question is what company do you recommend for rads and what pump? From what I gather looks like Alphacool is what I want for a rad because of the full copper core, but there are a lot of different pumps out there.

I have always liked Swiftech pumps. Currently have a MCP35B as i am only pushing a Black Ice 360 xflow rad with a single block for my CPU, but has more than enough flow to do more.
Their MCP655 series (D5 type) are great too, granted louder but flow a lot more water if you need to push multiple blocks or plan to expand. |

I would definitely recommend getting a mcp655 series. It is what I have in my build.

So it seems like this one is the one to get http://www.frozencpu.com/products/61...t_317_GPH.html
Also, with that pump I can get one of those pump kits(bits power/ek/etc) so it looks prettier if I see fit correct? Last edited by end0; 05-31-2014 at 01:32 AM. |

I had a custom loop for awhile. The MCP 655 is amazing. I had it and even on the highest speed it was still quieter than my PSU. I combined it with an XSPC dual 5.25 bay reservoir. I liked the Swiftech and Black Ice slim radiators. The Black Ice GTX raiators are really good, byt require a good deal of air to get good cooling. When I was watercooled the XSPC Raystorm was the block to get for CPUs, not sure if that's still the case.
Overall though it's a huge expense for not much gain, other than noise. I had fun doing it though. |
