I think Audyssey showed less correction that the La Scalas did, which my La Scalas are upgraded and sound great (my room isn't ideal either).

I got all my stuff out to run REW, which I hadn't used in almost 10 years (still re-figuring it out) and ran a test. I am using a Radio Shack 33-4050 SPL meter, which I originally purchased when I built my sub. While re-learning the process, I did see that it is accepted that the Radio Shack meter does not do well above 3k hz. Oddly enough, that's where I have the most discrepancy. I may look at getting a mic to use...

50 dB per division is pretty huge, hard to make any judgements. I have been meaning to mess with REW a bit more I have the Umik but only used it a few times. Amazing the instrumentation we have access to for so reasonable these days.

Sorry, I like to look at it like a dyno graph or when I'm tuning.

This is with no EQ at all. The tweeter of s a touch hot, so I'll make some changes in the crossover and test again.

I did just that, one thing I love about Crutchfield is that you are like "yeah, these 160lbs of speakers..naw bro. And they just fix the problem New pair coming in soon, if they fall to **** and end up having the same issue, I may just go with D17s and use my SVS sub to support them.

Really a hame, the 9080x sound f'in awesome, but that pop is annoying. I have the CS60 center channel w/ a powered sub and never have this issue.

No idea how to actually get a picture to show up anymore.... Imgur seems to have removed that functionality, at least on mobile.
Just wanted to know how they're sounding now that you've been breaking them in for a bit. I'm seriously considering a pair.

I've got a 9060 that I just had to drop off at my AD to be serviced as the sub mysteriously stopped functioning.

Anyone here with an LG C9 using audio ARC? I can't get it working properly with my Denon S540BT. Reading around the internet makes it sound like an LG firmware update broke ARC

I'm using eARC from my C9 to my Sony STR-DH790 without issue.

So when we moved, wife picked up some stuff at a local "free moving" ad she found on FB. While we were there, guy was throwing away these Fischer speaker cabinets. I picked them up and was originally intending on picking up an old receiver of some sort and mounting them in the garage for when I'm in there working. They've sat in the garage since May and I haven't gotten around to buying a used receiver.

Kids got an old Sony stereo recently for their play room, and I brought it down to test out these speakers, to see if they are blown or if they are garbage. The cabinets are a bit rough, but for free speakers, they sound decent.

I have my Klipsch RF28 towers in the basement along with a center, so I figure in the meantime, I will use these Fischer's as rear speakers until I get proper rear's and/or a receiver for the garage. Honestly, I think a bluetooth soundbar and sub will be easier in the garage as I'd most likely stream music from my phone if I was working in the garage, but that's a purchase that I'm in no rush to do and the speaker in my phone works plenty good for me now if I need music in the garage.

I still need to run wire from the receiver through the wall and through the ceiling over to the storage room and then out to these speakers. I plan on working on that one day this week, for now these will just sit on the ground until I a) get actual surround speakers that I can mount high on the wall or b) decide these will work and also mount them on the wall. I'm thinking of working towards a 7.1 setup down here. Walls need to be painted dark and I need a projector and screen, but this old 65" works plenty good for now.

I'd love to put in an actual door in that back section where the fish tanks and the sink/bathroom are at. During the day, light from that area bleeds into this room, so if we tried to do watch a movie, it's pretty bright down there. And we need proper seating as well, these are just random/leftover chairs from old couches.

I'm on 5.00.03 now (for RTX 30 series GPU compatibility) but I had been on 4.80.03 for months prior to that also without issue.

Well then I have no idea why it's not working. Everything is plugged in appropriately, TV audio settings set to "HDMI ARC," receiver has eARC and HDMI control enabled, and receiver set to "TV audio." No sound

I had a spare optical cable laying around, plugged that in, and can get TV audio.

I've read some speculation that LG displays are not sending the correct bitrate information over ARC (for example, 48 is being sent as 92), and that some AVRs don't like this. Perhaps this is the culprit? The Sony AVR I have connected to my C9 was about as bargain basement an eARC capable device I could find. Perhaps the fact that it doesn't care what bitrate the audio is has worked in my favor?

Looks like an odd size for a door. Maybe do a blackout curtain? Maybe a pocket door?

Oohhh... do a secret bookshelf door. That'd be awesome & fun for the kids. Yeah that's the ticket! "For the kids!"

Have you tried another HDMI cable?
I've had CEC issues before that went away when a different HDMI cable was used.

Yeah, it is an odd size and the door would have to be custom made or a flat sheet of plywood. The back wall where the speakers are at, that's where the stairs are to come down from the main floor and there's storage under the stairs that's walled off on 3 sides. It basically splits the basement in half. The wall behind were the fish tanks are and when looking at teh screen, to your left, that's where the bathroom is at.

Here's the other half of the basement, with the bar. The window above the bar is what bleeds light into the "theatre" room. Here are some pics from the original listing. I'm trying to do the best with what I can down there. I know sharp corners and hardwood floors aren't the best acoustically for a home theater, but it's much better than nothing. My dream would be to build a raised platform for the rear seating and the main seating on the current ground. 4 or 6 seats, as it's not a large room and the projector/screen to watch movies down there.

And here's standing in the spot the door would be. I currently have my 60G and 38G fish tanks against the wall to the right

A view turning 90 degrees to your left after coming down the stairs, looking at the "theater" room

View from that area looking at the fish tank closest to the opening, you can kind of see the theatre room here:

I have an LG TV that sends audio over ARC without issues so far. That's all I got.

That's easy then - some blinds or curtains.

Or go high class and tinfoil it. Gotta make sure the gov't isn't steeling yore brane wayves. Added bonus: if your fish get out of line you've got some foil handy and can grill them.

LOL, I hadn't thought about that. Keep It Simple Stupid.

That might be the best/easiest solution actually, and alot cheaper than building a wall/door there.

Did it work previously? or is this a new setup?

I thing ARC handshakes are very picky in general. My Sony to Sony works all the time now, vs previously with my Pioneer AVR the sound would drop out and come back and the tv would try to switch to internal speakers. However, even now I have to cycle the power on the AVR occasionally to get it to register that it's getting 5.1 from TV based streaming services.

It didn't work before, or at least I never tried it. I was running everything from the PC, to the AVR, then the TV. But, I'm trying to get the Prime video/Netflix apps setup for the Mrs so she can just push the button and go. It works with the optical since it's just 5.1, but it's annoying that eARC isn't operating the way it should.

When I was setting it up the first time, I tried a million different things, nothing worked. Then I set it back like I was supposed to, and it didn't work. I needed lunch or something and walked away, about 5 minutes later there was audio blaring from the living room. It's worked fine ever since.
