I severely underestimated what 8 pallets of sod looks like. I think I lost half my lives doing this. At least the weather was nice.

I usually relocate them to a bucket full of water. Where do you relocate to?

This is almost me next week - scarifying, aerating, leveling and over seeding the front yard.

I drive them to a park 4 or 5 miles away.

My mom relocated one to a bucket of water recently and it was kind of scary how much she enjoyed it

Seems messed up...and it's a squirrel...that's a battle you're never going to win against.

Figure out a more ethical way to off the animal if you insist on it.

I usually take it out back and we use pistols at dawn at 10 paces.
They can't use pistols (atleast they haven't been successful thus far), but with their agility at close range it evens out.

Damn dude.

The sensible thing would be to skin, season, and deep fry it.

On topic, just got a call from my mom who was (very) happy to report she caught a rat. The rats have been eating the peaches off their tree.

4-6 servings
1 squirrel

Those squirrels must be very plump, full of honey.

Look, if you're making squirrel stew, you're not eating Cheesecake Factory portions.

"Where's Eddie? Doesn't he usually eat these things?"

"Not since he found out they were high in cholesterol."

Today I installed a couple new ceiling fans outside. They came with a variable speed switch too...but oddly position 1 is full speed and 4 is the slowest? Thank you China? WTF.

That’s actually common. Even on pull chains high is the first position

Today I fixed a sprinkler. It was clogged, so I unclogged it.

Now, it just floods

I counted 9 broken sprinkler heads, and 4 of them that have sunk so I have to either dig them up or use a riser.
Tomorrow I might start on that. Having the gf over on the weekends sure takes up all of my time.

So, first couple of weeks in the new house. It is on a hillside, but all of the drainage is sorted. What is not great is the state of the lawn. Decent slope on yard, covered 80% by trees, most of the topsoil washed away. Is there anything I can do to make this current dandelion farm more presentable? With the slope, shade and falling debris from the trees, can anything but weedy plants hope to make it here without forking over huge $ and constant time suck? Hardscaping? In New Jersey?

I think you'll have to endure this until Fall.
You'll need to increase lawn health, and use post-emergent herbicide.
Next year, maybe thatch and use pre-emergent.

Getting a contract today to review. We're having a contractor renovate most of the guest bathroom, it's not a big project, just removing and replacing the tub/shower and making the walls tile ready for us.

Any lessons learned or things to keep an eye out for reviewing the contract?
