I would ****ing love it if their website worked - because I need 110" wide shades... and they only tell you after you do all the options that it won't work.

Their chart for the ones that are that wide... missing..

Maybe call them? I don't trust most sites like that to be completely accurate and up to date.

We hired a new guy who used to be a union electrician. He said all the linemen are doing speed, etc.

You do know that mental health specialists deal with all of that everyday without beating down people to subdue them, right? Because it sounds like you are saying they ''Might have'' decided he had it coming, and that makes a beat down totally OK.

Is that the job of the police nowadays? Judge, jury, and executioner?

Road construction.

Got Fed funding to replace two draw bridges that are part of a 4 lane divided highway.

New bridges are flyover type so traffic is no longer disrupted by marine traffic.

3 year planned project. It's been 2+ years and they don't even have the first one completed. It's about half done.

It's going to be a 5-6yr project. And once they open the first span they'll have to take it down to 1 lane both directions so they can work the 2nd span.

That's going to be 3 yrs of hell on traffic.

That's in line with some of the stuff my friend (now retired union electrician) says about his co-workers. Most of them are functioning drug addicts.

That's nothing.

Two major interstates intersect in my hometown. The "four year project" to redesign and replace the outdated cloverleaf is still unfinished nine years in:

"Phase 1" of the project was started in 2012 and was supposed to be finished by 2014. "Phase 2" was supposed to start shortly thereafter and be completed by 2016.

Phase 1 ended sometime in 2017 and the company that owned the contract abandoned Phase 2 and declared bankruptcy sometime in 2018.

Phase 2's contract has yet to be awarded as of January

Fudge. I hope that's not what happened here. I haven't seen anyone working on it in a while.

When it started they had piles driven and stanchions poured pretty fast. Only a couple miles down that road is a plant that manufacturers long concrete beams for bridges. So most of the spans were done pretty fast.

But a few have been left open, and have been that way for at least 6 months.

Washing machine broke.

It's an LG top load. I'm going to try to replace the clutch assembly, as it seems like common bearing failure.

Went out and ran my boat engine a bit yesterday. Getting about time to put it back in the water for the year.

Noticed today there's a puddle of hydraulic oil under it from the power tilt/trim.

I bet anything it's leaking around the motor pump I paid $1k for a bunch of yahoos to replace, and still ended up rewiring it myself because they wired it backwards.

:yikes:

I decided today was a great day to trim/prune a isht-tone of bushes and trees around the house.

Sure, lets break out the pruning pole and extend it to max length, then make sure the hands are above the shoulders to be able to saw off the branches.

Everything from my dick, up, hurts.

Thank God for these 12oz bottles of motion juice otherwise I'd never get off the couch.

It must have been beat yourself up day.
Figured I’d rent a stump grinder for the property line I cleared last year because I’m tired of dodging stumps, the extra weed whacking and I already bent a mower blade when i caught one. Thought it would take maybe three hours or try eight on for size.
The callouses on my mitts are tender and I feel like bruised my pubic bone from thrusting with the machine. Stump has been ground indeed.

We had two trees removed from our front yard this spring. We had enough mulch from them grinding the stumps to mulch half our backyard garden beds.

You should try thrusting in different positions.

Don't forget to use a broomstick in the hole to get rid of bees though. I've heard.

I pulled up 5 pieces of 2x6x6ft pieces of decking that was loose because the nails had rusted to the point I could just lift the board with 2 fingers.

I generally just flip it over, make sure nothing sharp is sticking up, and use a cordless frame nailer to nail it back down.

Takes maybe 2-3min per board.

For 3 days afterwards a muscle deep in the middle of my thigh felt like it ran a 5k without prep.

WTF. Let me clear this up for you, you clearly read what I said and inserted whatever warped opinion you have about law enforcement into it.

I said:

"We also don't know all the history of his past experiences with the police. Maybe he just threatened to shoot his ex wife or ran curb stomped someone's puppy prior to the mental health breakdown. Context is critical and we as outside observers (even as close as Xan was) don't have all of it."

This was in response to:

"2. An hour ago a guy was having a mental health crisis on the street near work. Eight cop cars rolled up, the cops immediately jumped out, tackled him, and just started beating the **** out of him so hard he started having convulsions. No attempt at de-escalation, no nothing. Just jumped out and went for it. Blood everywhere."

Now let me break this down for you:

1 - Xan isn't a mental health professional. So he "believes that the guy had a crisis". Most people are going through trauma every day, you don't know what is going on in their heads.

2 - Xan didn't state what happened prior to this, probably because he was busy working. Maybe he had a smoke with the guy, we don't know.

3 - I said specifically that we (as outside observers) don't know everything that was occurring or leading up to this.

4 - We absolutely do not know this persons past experiences with law enforcement or even the public at large.

5 - I never implied or said he deserved it. I gave two scenarios that would cause the police to get called (death threat and beating up a puppy). You took that and did 2+2 = 99 straight off the deep end into some lame attempt at internet shaming "OMGz you said he dezwerved it...what kind of person are you...."

6 - The police could entirely be wrong in how they handled it. I don't know because I wasn't there and don't know all the details of what occurred.

7 - If the police did in fact do something wrong, they should be held accountable and punished accordingly.
