Idk if it was mentioned here I've been busy away haven't been on here in a minute got a new shop it's super rad! but anyways.

A valve job will change install spring seat pressure hence the need to shim!

And to much springs pressure will beat a valve up pretty good. Just saying.

And I'm using stock oem keepers.

The gist of it was that their springs are designed to last as long or longer than oem for their rated range and that the actual number of defect related failures has been infinitesimal considering how many sell.

"The fatigue life of our springs is designed well above the estimated life of a built or OEM engine so for a spring to fail after 10k, 20k, 50k, etc. is almost impossible without the influence of some external factor."

" I won't claim it's impossible but in 10+ years of history I can count the amount of confirmed defects on a single hand. "

"External factors like rust (#1 killer), handling damage, or installation issues are really what we deal with these days."

and

"As for your build, if you are planning on 500 whp as a starting point our 5043 kit is perfectly fine for that. This is our most popular installed kit for the EJ engine which we sell thousands of per year. Shimming this kit later on in its life is not recommended because it changes the springs working range (see below) as well as gets you closer to coil bind. Depending on your future goals if you are looking into higher power/boost/rpm's I would suggest our 5073 dual conical kit. This kit can handle just about anything below dedicated drag car power levels. It really boils down to turbo size and its supporting modifications."

were a few things he mentioned. He also mentioned e85 use and moisture introduction into the crankcase as a factor with rust related spring damage.
Say you have GSC s3 cams and shimmed the springs then yes but with GSC s2 id say you can shim them. Always check your spring height at full lift. Record your data.

I would go with a better design intake than cosworth like AMS and process west but then I got to get rid of AC in flipped configuration

Keep the AC, for sure.

Maybe I missed it, but what valve springs did you end up going with in your new long block?

The ETS V2 header is being installed by shop right now

I’ll make a separate thread for the epic KillerB vs ETS header showdown, stay tuned

I thought so. good to hear! I just ordered the 65lb FP RED 8cm ported and about to pull the trigger on a IAG 700 crate. I kind of benchmarked your old set up hoping for the 500whp on methanol. Thanks for sharing!
